It's part of Google Maps. Just type in where you want to see and if it is available it gives you the option of street view or drag the little orange man over the area, if the street gloes blue, it's available.

They've done about 20 cities I think. If you go to www.google.co.uk/maps, drag the little yellow man onto the map and if it goes blue you can see pics of that place.

I think if you go to any big British city you should be able to find a viewable street Smiley smile

Just type in Oxford Street, London and it should bring something up.

It doesn't have my current address but I looked up my childhood postcode (SM3 8RU) and have been happily scooting around Cheam village revisiting childhood haunts. I even got as far as the gate of my school. It's a little bit too Big Brother for my liking but very clever.

Chez ONE is on it, and I can tie down when they took the pics to a couple of days last year.

Ah, Cheam Village, lovely memories. Was shagging a rather sexy man who temporarilty resided inCheam Vill. Is the Thai place still there? Actually My sis in laws is often there, what with living around the corner. Cheam Park is v good, if you are about 5.

I was only 12 when I left so no such memories for me. ? There was no Thai when I lived there. In fact, the only foreign eatery was the then new Trattoria down the Malden Road. Apart from that, I think the most cosmopolitan we got was Bertorelli's delicatessen on The Broadway.

Not many shops left from my childhood, apart from big names like WH Smith and Boots. Friths pharmacy is still there and I think the sports shop next door was there when I was a child. And WA Truelove the undertaker is still at the top of the High Street, I see, and the Washeteria has survived after all these years. I can't believe The American Way is still there. Happy memories of nipping out of the Thursday Club at the Parochial Halls and going next door for an ice cream (and nicking all the Mint Imperials from the bowl at the till when the waitress wasn't looking ?).

It feels a bit voyeuristic, this.

I've had a mooch round Glasgow city centre. It doesn't paint it in the best light I have to say, it's obviously been done early in the morning and there are bins and bin lorries all over the place ? it looks pretty sh1tty, actually. Not going to invite much tourism here, I wouldn't think!

It was a glorious day when they did my street. I presume it must have been last summer as everything is in bloom. My car is on there which I only bought at the end of July and it's looking very shiny so I reckon it must have been early August!

They havent got as far out of manchester as us yet, but I`ve found our old flats in london-NW5 (Nr the junction pub) and NW1 (camden square). H went in a bit of a sulk when he was looking at it, as I insisted that we moved back here and he really misses it-so it`s already caused an argument in our house!!
