I would give the surgery a call in the morning - you'll probably have to tell the receptionist a rough idea as to why you need an emergency appointment but when it's depression related i'm pretty sure they'll get you int o see your GP asap. Hope you're ok

My doctors in NI had emergency appointments available as long as you called first thing. They never asked my why I needed one and as long as I called first thing I always got one. Hope you're ok ?

Thanks again, just a wee update. My GP is off today so I'm seeing a locum later today. I can feel myself having the urge to cancel though already but will try and force myself to go ?

Please go Jaz, the GP will absolutely be able to help.

If you feel okay about going now, but scared you might chicken out later, how about you write it all down now? That way even if you don't want to sit and say it aloud in the apointment, you can show them what you have written? Not sure if that will help? xx

I would call in the morning and say you need to see a doctor the same day. If they ask is it an emergency then say yes.

If you need to be seen, you need to be seen ?

Sorry you're feeling so low jaz. I know how hard it is, especially with a locum, but please, please, go. I totally agree with Hepburn about writing things down. When I went a few weeks ago (about several things but my depression was really bad at the time) I wrote myself a list just for me so that I didn't forget to ask about anything but when I actually got into the room I had a bit of an 'episode' and just handed the list over to the GP instead.
