Grand Prix thread

For once we're watching the race live, that is providing our Sky+ box doesn't give up the ghost - it just crashed twice in a row! Seems to be working now though so fingers crossed. Anyone else watching? Obviously main worry is for Massa following that horrific accident yesterday, especially following the death of Henry Surtees last week. He does seem to be one of the good guys of the sport and a genuinely nice guy who also gave Lewis a very exciting run for his money last season! Let's hope he'll be back next race or the one after.

I am watching! I think it will be very exciting for the first time this season with a bit of a Lewis comeback!

Latest news on Massa - he is being kept in an induced coma for the next 48 hours.

I really hope he makes a full recovery.

I'm watching. I missed qualifying yesterday so was very shocked to see Massa needed surgery. I hope he recovers well but I shouldn't think he'll be racing for the rest of the season.

ETA Not that I am a huge Lewis Hamilton fan, but it has been so onesided this year with the cars, that I actually got a bit bored of the whole thing. ?

Hurrah for finally making it a competition!

I also hope Massa makes a full recovery, he is both talented and seems to be such a nice guy.

Zooropa, I reckon if he feels well enough it would be bloody hard to keep him out of that car - motor racing drivers seem to find it very difficult to 'rest up'. Obviously the main concern is for him just to be OK though.

NightOwl - not sure I 100% agree with you - the first few races it was very much Jenson's time (although that in itself was exciting as it was unexpected and he is a Brit after all), but it's been close the last few races and there's 3 drivers that have a good chance at the championship still (I seem to remember tipping Vettel at the end of last season so we shall see if I was right!) - plus a few more that mathematically could still win even if it's unlikely.

Anyway yay for Lewis getting 2nd position off Webber!

Jeeeeeez after last weekend's incident (and yesterday's as well) it did NOT feel good to see that wheel disintegrate and then go bouncing down the track. Have a feeling that'll be Alonso out of the points.

I'm not sure how long a recovery period he will need. I know he'll want to get back but after having surgery on two parts of his skull I should think he'll need plenty of time to recoporate. Of course it would be nice to see him back for the next race in 4 weeks but he needs to be fully recovered first.

I hope Renault get a good telling off for that incident - I know that these things happen but having a wheel fly off is not a good thing.

    Go Lewis!!!

Oh boy, now that was exciting! Im really happy for both Hamilton and Raikkonen and feel a bit sorry for Button.
