Just spotted this table easel on the Ikea site:

Unfinished wood, ready to be painted - it's 30cm tall so should support a table plan, or could be used for table numbers, signing frames, guest book etc. And it's 69p!
Now I wish I hadn't spent £50 on a 5' tall metal stand!
