Greek Honeymoon Help!!!!

AussieAngelxxx, 9 September, 2008 at 16:50 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hiya all!!

We are going Mid Setptember (after the wedding) and cannot find anywhere that isn't costing the earth!!

Can anyone reccomend a good travel agent? Also we do not want to find ourselves in the clubbing party scene. I know a agent wouldnt stick us in one if we didn't want to but I would like to know anyone who has been to a fantastic quiet hotel and where would be the best place for a romantic honeymoon!! Also is anyone has opinions on All Inclusive or just B&B.

Any help or info would be fabby!!!

Thanks! Thats what I think too! I think I just need to get H2B to come around fully to the fact we will not want to be eating in the hotel all the time and yes there is alcohol included but we are a couple who had an alcoholic drink mmmm.....3 or so months ago so would be wasted on us lol We would just buy the cocktails we want!

I can highly reccomend Zakynthos or Zante as it is known over here.

We go to the quieter side of the island (Sirocco Hotel to be precise) and it is wonderful, I cannot tell you how nice the people are, how peaceful the place is and how beautiful the beaches are!

    Its also not that expensive

I can also reccomend taking the boat trips that are locally provided, I was lucky enough to swim with turtles on my last trip

I know you were looking at not mega expensive, but santorini is fabulous and very romatic, especially in oia (?sp). we went a few years ago for about £250 each for a week, but it seems you cant get those kind of deals anymore. kefalonia is also lovely, and have you tried mykonos? sorry if these are all expensive places.

AI in Greece is, IMO a waste of money plus the quality of food is very poor generally. This year we our most expensive meal cost about €60 but one of the best meals cost just €25 including wine.

You should be able to get some great deals in mid-september too. I adore Paxos (go via boat from Corfu) but I hear very good things about the Peleponnese too. You could get yourself a copy of the rough guide to greece which you could use to narrow down some choices.

Ive just come back from kefalos in kos and it was amazing!! we payed £237 each for B+B in august so i imagine would be very good value in sept. the resort was so nice, not very clubby just scenic beautiful and amazing food. most meals were about 30euro incl wine, beer and lots of food!!!

we stayed in the antonis hotel, its rated number one on trip adviser. it wasn't exactly luxurious, but then again ive never been to anywhere in greece that is!! but the staff were so lovely and perfect location just a walk away from the beach and all kinds of bars restarants.

In September I'd recomend Crete as it will still be nice and sunny. We stayed in Hania last year which was very nice. Its an old fishing village but has lots of not too in your face night life to keep you entertained.

I'd recommend Santorini, but then again, I'm biased!!

We usually stay at Kafouros Self Catering in Kamari, and always book with Kosmar. But if you're wanting a bit more luxury, Venus hotel in Kamari is lovely too.

I'd go B&B or Self Catering.....food is not too expensive and is miles better than the hotels, especially if you eat local dishes / seafood.
