    Oh that's just grim ?

Not a freecycler unfortunately, keep meaning to register but then always forget and end up taking stuff to the charity shop instead!

Gopping ? I haven't heard that word for years

A couple of years back there was an offered post for a Mooncup. I seriously hoped they were joking....

    Eww that's minging!

I'm not a freecycler (too scared of being inundated with request for stuff) but on the same subject didn't a Hitcher sell her used undies on ebay? I'm pretty sure she wasn't buying them ?

I don't quite see why a used electric toothbrush is that bad - after all, you'd buy new heads for it and this is the part which goes in and near your mouth. Using the head it came with, yes, that's grim ?

What's the freecycle policy/etiquette on broken things? I've got a laptop which no longer works (not quite sure why)- some technical type might be able to mend it or use parts of it but I've never offered it because I don't want to come across as a twat. WWYD?

Nope, the body of a toothbrush is ok, don't see a problem with that. But if it's the bristly bit - yuck!

No etiquett really KN. I would just offer it but make it clear it is broken and someone is bound to want it.

That's fine to offer as long as you state its broken. I'm always giving things away for spares/repairs.

That said, I sold my broken iBook for £150 on fleaBay!

A lot of them come with replaceable heads these days. They also make very good electric lock picks BTW... Sans the bristley bit.

Ah - maybe i am being oversensitive or too picky - or maybe i dribble too much when i brush my teeth and assume everyone else will have gobbed over their toothbrush to the same extent

(i am mildly phobic about library and second hand books too so will put hands up as potentially the weirdo not the toothbrush offerer)

knownowt - frequently broken stuff offered on ours - laptops, pcs, ps1 and 2s either to be fixed or cannabalised

I think it's a bit grim! Last week I got rid of a 20+ year old water butt from our garden. The bloke who came to get it looked a bit shocked that it was dirty...

KN - you will get at least 20 people begging you for it, honestly.

I don't see a problem with using someone else's electric toothbrush - provided you wipe it down and use a new head, that is!
