Groom issue

Jlo84, 3 February, 2012 at 21:05 Posted on Planning 0 11

Well Mr Jlo is 100% positive that he will not wear a wedding waistcoat. Did anyone else have this issue. I worry that he will just look like all the other guests etc Thanks

A what?! Surely it only matters that he looks like your hubby! ? Let him wear what he wants to wear me says. No biggie.

When I read the title I thought you were going to say that your groom's done a runner or something, so I was a little relieved to read your post!

Mine's wearing a waistcoat but it's the same charcoal grey colour as his suit. I don't think your OH would look like a normal guest, everyone will know he's the groom and probably not notice if he's in a waistcoat or not.

Mr C had a plain grey 3 piece suit (which he chose), as did the best man and a couple of the guests.

He was still the Groom and still looked like he was getting married, especially with his buttonhole.

He'll be the one at the front, getting married to you and he won't look remotely like just another guest. HTH!

Thanks ladies. We have already bought the suits for him & the groomsmen and I just assumed we would get waistcoats separately. Mrs C - I really like the 3 piece ones but the suit he has gone for doesn't have a matching one so it will just be suit, shirt and tie :-(

I think we would be a little cross if our husband-to-be's started telling us what sort of dress we must wear so i think this is one we need to let them choose tbh. My OH doesnt want to wear a morning suit but i'd like it... but its him that has to wear it for the day so ultimately it should be his choice. It would spoil it for anyone feeling uncomfortable for the day- bride or groom i think.

My OH decided he wanted to wear a waistcoat and cravat AND cumberband. I had to politely tell him that you have one or the other..... not both ?

But my uncle wore a plain suit and the grooms party just all wore matching ties.

I'd rather my groom DIDN'T wear a waistcoat but he wants too. It is up to him after all.

Chill. It will be really quite obvious who the groom is.
