Grooms wear help needed

excited bride2015, 15 January, 2015 at 17:55 Posted on Planning 0 9

My fiancé is not a suit man and I certainly don't want the tails. So am interested in what other sort of outfits people are going for / or had?

thanks

OH is wearing a kilt. it depends when and where you're getting married - if it's likely to be warm a waistcoat instead of a jacket could look fab, I love men in dinner suit and bow tie but if he doesn't like suits that probably won't appeal. Tell us a bit more about your wedding and your groom, it'll make it easier to suggest alternatives.

My groom and other male bridal party members are all wearing normal suits, albeit three piece and very smart. The boys are in all black three piece, oh who knows, not bought his yet but I know it will have a contrasting waistcoat. He didn't want a morning suit or similar, not least because they are wearing them twice. X

    HI all,

    Sorry didn't see the responses.

We are getting married in June in a cave. Hotel reception to follow.

I quite like the idea of waistcoats only ( oh trousers of course!!). think I will take him shopping to try some

Love that you're getting married in a cave, that's awesome!

My OH is wearing a 3 piece suit but our ushers are not wearing a jacket but are just having waistcoat, trousers and shirt. Both my OH and the ushers are not wearing ties. IMO they will all look incredibly smart. Who needs tails? They're boring.

We didn't want the more traditional wedding suits either, neither of us are particularly big fans of tails. OH is wearing an electric blue (not as bad as it sounds!) slim fit suit. We're not bothering with waistcoats has it will hopefully be warm in July.

A cave will be cold - even in June!! How about some kind of (fake) fur coat?? I saw Four Weddings recently with a cave wedding, it looked awesome all lit up with candles
