Grrrrr. e-bay advice please

Mrs Vineweevil, 9 December, 2008 at 15:10 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

I don't usually sell many things and not to overseas, but was contacted by someone in Czech Republic desperate to do a BIN on my Fisher Price garage. They now seem to have gone AWOL. I now have to leave it until 12th Dec to report the item unpaid. Can anyone tell me what happens next??? I wanted to sell the item before christmas but if I wait much longer to list then it will be to close to xmas.

If they come back and pay after another week say, I suppose I am still obliged to sell it to them!? (i.e. can I relist after making the dispute or am I taking a risk?)

Bu@@er, knew I should have stuck to my non-overseas selling guns!

Did you list it as a Buy it Now? If not and they contacted you 'outside' of your listing then you are not obliged to sell it to them and can you report them if you wish. If you didnt put a BIN on then you should be able to re-list straight away.

But then saying that, if you didnt list it as BIN and you accepted their BIN price, then you have acted outside the e.Bay T&C's so suppose you would just have to sit it out.

Wasnt much help at all really was I ?

FD is right that if you didn't list it as BIN and have agreed the sale outside of eBay, you can relist straight away. You wouldn't, however, have to sit it out just because you agreed to it. If they're not co-operating now, there's nothing to stop you relisting. If it was agreed outside eBay they can't neg you.

If, however, you did have a BIN price on the auction and the e-mails were to get permission to bid when they're overseas and you said no to overseas in the listing, then having given your permission you are stuck and have to wait to file the non-paying bidder thing.

Thanks. It was listed as auction with BIN option and all the e-mails were through e bay, guess I will be saving my BNIB garage until later next year to sell :-(
