Guest book alternatives?

ShropshireLass, 25 March, 2014 at 17:38 Posted on Planning 0 15

Just sorting the last minute bits & pieces and realised we don't have a guest book yet.

I wanted to do something a bit different to a guest book, but we don't want a wish tree/fingerprint tree or a signing frame so was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I quite like the idea of postcards in a box but no idea where to find something like that!

    We're hoping to have a vinyl record or an acoustic as a guest book to keep.

    I love this but noticed you only have 2 weeks left, could you adapt the idea?

    Thanks for replies!

    Ill have a look through those MM3, thanks for link!

    I looked at coasters but need about 100 so would work out a bit too much, esp at this stage! I really like the scroll idea & the wedding libs so might try and find a way of incorporating both somehow!! I'll have a play on laptop tonight and have a look for a mini chest or something whilst I'm out and about tomorrow!

    Thanks again...I'll probs be back again with more last minute requests for help!!

    This might be easier if you can't find a suitable box;

    We're having one of these.....http://www.alfykelly.com/products/original-chrome-gold - a bit more expensive than the usual guest book but we thought it was a great keepsake and something we'd look at time and time again. Not sure how quick they can turn them around though, we had to wait a while for ours. They may be able to turn them round quicker though.

    We had a fingerprint bike (diy) and also some madlibs cards. We downloaded these free, printed them off, jar of pens and a plain book for people to stick them in (with glue dots). It was so fun reading them!

    We're doing jenga bricks with names written on as place cards on tables, and asking people to write a message on the other side - building bricks for our life together - cheesy but i love it!

    using ikea wooden bricks about £5 for a pack of 60 i think - just need to find someone with good handwriting to write all the names on, and remember to mention it in speaches so people know what to do!!

    We were given a massive bottle of champagne a few months before our wedding as a gift and we served it at the party. We put the wooden box it came in out in the marquee with a pot of coloured sharpies and asked people to sign it. We now use the box to keep our wedding cards and other little souvenirs in.

    We are not bothering - most people give you a card anyway, no?

    Saturdays wedding had a signing plate. Never seen one before and they supplied a porcelain pen to write on it.
