Guest Book Table

kharding2014, 5 January, 2014 at 21:18 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi,

I'm looking for some inspiration for my guestbook table. I have the following guestbook

And these luggage tags and wooden pegs with white hearts (no idea how to use them yet).

What are you putting on your guestbook tables? And any idea of what I can put on mine? I'm hopping to make something pretty enough to draw the eye and hopefully people towards it to encourage them to sign the guestbook. I've also just realised that I need somewhere to put cards!

As always any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps put your card box on the guest book table as people are always drawn to the place they have to put their cards. During the reception it could be passed around the tables to encourage people to sign it after they have eaten? I find this works well.

    I love the guest book.

We are having a similar sized book to you and having a polaroid camera so people can take a snap, put it in the book and write a message next to it.

We are also having a card box inspired by this.

What about having a wishing tree? then you could use the tags to put on there?

    Lovely guest book!

On our table are; guest book, card box and 5 picture frames - picture of me & OH, then pictures of our parents and grandparents on their wedding day. Like a little generation thing, was fun looking back at the pictures too. They are all in pretty vintage frames to tie in with the theme.

Oh almost forgot begind the guest book will be a wooden letters spelling "love" too. Think I'll have a few tea lights scattered on the table too if it doesn't look too much.

Sounds pretty busy doesn't it, but it's all in theme so shouldn't look too random.

DrBuffles - Where are you getting your box from? I really like it. The person who is doing our table decorations has suggested doing a candyfloss tree that you eat and then replace with wish tags but I'm yet to see it.

Feb2014Bride - It doesn't sound like too much to me. I think its those little touches that will make the table personal and really pretty.

I have just remembered that I made these but I don't think that the finish on them looks good. I'm not sure if a wooden Mr & Mrs sign would look better.

I bought a 'naked' box from ebay so will be getting crafty and hopefully making it look similar to the picture. It was between £15 and £20.

Candy floss tree sounds interesting. I've not seen one before.

We had our guest book table like this...

I agree if you put your card box next to it then people will be drawn over and will then sign it. Most weddings I have been to assign someone like a BM to pass the guest book around the tables at some point in the evening to allow people to sign it, although when there is a lot on this can be forgotten easily.
