Guest books inspiration/recommendations

AutumnRose, 1 March, 2010 at 19:25 Posted on Planning 0 31

I have quite a few bit's a pieces left to do like table names, cameras for tables etc. Just noticed one of those on my list is guest book.......keen to get something sorted for this as i think it's a lovely part of the day to look back on.

We're having a vintage/english country theme with dusky pink and cream roses. If anyone can recommend a site of HIB to make this for us i'd be very grateful.

Flashes happily received to inspire me!!!!!!

I am having the same theme as you and colour scheme. I am doing a wish tree istead of a guest book as this way people can write what they like and hang their wishes/ advice for us on teh tree making it a talkign point and also a lovely decoration. I am also thinking that anything written latter in the evening once people have drunk alot that does not quite make the grade either grammatically or content wise will be thrown away and the rest can then be stuck into a book to keep.

Ah i see you have fab taste tinks269 ?

That's a nice idea, i've been to a wedding where that worked really well. Plan with book in that one of my BMs will take it round during dinner (have one who is fab at that sort of thing) and then it'll be left open on card table in evening for people to add too. I don't really mind funny drunk comments - all adds to the day hehe!!!

I've been to a couple of weddings where the bride and groom have sent round a plate to be signed by all the guests and also have seen at another one a big picture of the bride and groom stuck onto a piece of white card ready to be framed that we've all been asked to sign around as well. both good mementoes of the day and doesn't have to cost a lot either. the postcards one is a good idea too as if there is anything written that really offends you can just throw that one away or not display it!

you could always go for a plain guest book and then stick something on the front to customise and personalise it to your own wedding?

Yes that's what i'd like i think. A traditional book which is personalised to our day, so fits in with the theme etc.

    Hi AutumnRose

These are a small selection of ones I've made

    GUEST BOOKS

I'm afraid my proper website is in the process of being relaunched with new designs of the coming few weeks but I'm happy to discuss ideas and suggest designs and colours to suit.

I'm going to try and do something like this (in our colours) and a lot more simple -not so many containers, just two large jars/vases - where guests write their wishes on little cards and take a wish as well from us. then I'll put it together later in the wedding album.

still looking for reasonable apothecary jars or equiv.

Are you making the tree yourself or buying one? Just wondered how you were doing it. I was going to do this as well, but have struggled to find aomething that I like?!

We're making ours. We found a couple of broken branches in the forest near our place that looked like a good size and shape and are planning on spray painting them. We're then going to stick em in a glass vase filled with coloured pebbles. I'm making the decorations for it today - I bought some strung beads online for £1 and I'm making teeny paper birdcages. I'm also making wish tree labels today from the same paper that I used for our invites (if I can persuade myself to get off my a*se and do something other than lurk on Hitched!).

You need to be a registered Hitcher In Business to post like this - see the first post in this forum for the rules. I suggest you stop posting until you have done this as myself and my fellow hitchers get very annoyed and all you will achieve is a boycott of your business.

    Thank-you.

Gillsy: where did you get your 'plain' guest book from? Or can anyone say where I might get a nice book, but plain enough to do myself?

Doh. just seen you'd already answered that earlier. Didn't see the next pages!
