Guest Numbers

CupcakeQueen, 26 October, 2010 at 12:16 Posted on Planning 0 5

How many is not enough for an atmosphere?

I am having at the moment about 46 adults and 7 children to the day- so total of 53, and im worried this is going to look very small?

My venue is perfect size for this number but just worry what people might think?

What's your numbers or your experiences of very large or very small weddings?

I'm only having 20 guests but in a small venue so it will be cosy and intimate. I don't really care that I'm not having hundreds of guests, only my immediate family and OHs immediate family have been invited and a couple of friends. Don't worry about what other people think, 53 people is quite a lot of guests.

    Hey,

I was recently at a wedding that had about 66 during th day and I thought that sounded small as we are having 100 at ours. BUT it was a great number and not quiet atall. If I could get our numbers down to 60, I wouldn't hesitate. I'm sure the 7 kids will keep it lively.

Hi there, I'm having 43 in total for the whole day and 12 are children under 15. I'm not worrying about atmosphere as it's family and 8 close friends and that gets noisy enough when we are all together. I'm not having a disco either as my evening venue is a private residential manor house so cannot accommodate that style of entertainment, we do, however, have a piano so I am booking a local pianist to play between afternoon tea and the evening buffet.

I am having garden chess and croquet and a treasure hunt in the woods near the house. I really wanted a small family feel wedding so it's perfect for me. My tip would be don't try and do what the big weddings do as you will all get lost. It will give you the opportunity to do lots of different things.

We're having 50 to the day and that will be plenty in our venue I think.

We could have had up to 80 in the venue but we tied into 50 and I've no worries about it looking small at all.

We are inviting a further 50 to the evening though but they will be milling all over the place so won't all be crowded into one room

We are only having 36 to the ceremony. We can't have anymore as that is the maximum capacity of the turret we get married in, in the castle. There will be upto 150 in the evening though.
