Guest photo collecting

HappyYellowDecor17378, 6 September, 2018 at 18:09 Posted on Planning 0 6

HI,

Im looking for an easy to use app or website for guests to upload their photos.

Ive started making a gettingmarried.co.uk site but it seems to download the photos you have to right click and 'save as' for each photo, which is too time consuming. Does anyone know of a free service with this feature? I dont require the rest of the site literally just the photo part.

It needs to be a site with password access so I can print the cards for the tables.

I may have to go for weddingphotoswap and pay for the 6 month option but i'd prefer free, obviously! The site doesnt have to be wedding themed, but I found Flickr invites to not be suitable

Thanks in advance

    Hi

You should look at Wed Pics. Its a free site that lets guests upload their photos. You have to give a unique reference to each guest so they can log in which means random people can't look at your photos.

    Hope this helps!

    Hiya

I'm using withjoy.com to not only create our website, send out invites (and manage RSVPs) but also collect photos and messages on the day and ahead of time.

It's all free and automatically creates both a website and an app that people can use to easily upload photo 'moments' from the wedding.

So far it's been super easy to use and i love the fact that our guests will have an app with them on the day not only for photos but things like the schedule (we aren't doing a printed programme or anything).

    Hope this helps!

I’m just using Facebook but changing my settings on my timeline to approve posts and set up a private request only group for my guests where they can upload photos.

A wedding I went to recently had a hashtag (which they advertised all over the room and in the speeches) and asked people to upload photos to Facebook/Instagram with the hashtag so the bride and groom could easily see them/tag themselves/nick the photos. I don't know if that would work for what you're after, you might want something more private or well-organised, although the advantages are that almost everyone is familiar with Facebook and/or Instagram so I'd guess it's easier for people to just upload their stuff quickly, like they're used to doing, without thinking too much, even whilst drunk, and you don't have to particularly set anything up. Just a thought.

We're also having a hashtag. We have a wedding website (we've used 'getting married'), and it does have an area where guests can post photos, but I honestly don't think people would use it. They will however post on Facebook and Instagram, so we're going to ask them to post there with the hashtag.

My friend set up an album on Facebook and added her guests as contributors, which worked quite well.

    Hope this helps! x

We used Wedbox for our wedding last weekend. Only 8 people have uploaded photos to it (will chase some more this week who I know took photos) but from those 8 we have over 200 lovely photos and it's very easy to use.

This might not be quite what you're looking for but my cousin's got their laptops and got a load of usb cables and memory card readers and asked guests to upload their photos into their laptop at the end of the night so they had photos there and then
