That's really rude, do you think it's definitely true or has someone got their wires crossed? I'd be livid. Hope all gets sorted and you can cancel their meals if necessary. x

Going to get partner to ring tomorrow its not all bad as it means I can now invite a friend and her partner to the whole day now instead of just evening. I'm just miffed that I'm hearing it second hand, one of the excuses I've heard is because they have just got a new puppy and they can't leave him alone as he is only 9 weeks old and can't ask anyone else.

If they don't turn up/can't come (at this late stage) and don't bother to let you know so you can reallocate thier spaces, I'd send them an invoice after the event for their wasted place...

I agree with everyone else - downright rude. But do check it's definite before you reallocate their space

I really don't think a lot of people actually realise how much it costs you to invite them to their wedding these days - I certainly had no idea until we started planning ours that it's easy to spend £100 per person if you factor in the dresses etc as well as their actual food/drink supplied on the day.

We have had this and i have got MIL to call them and tell them they need to pay for their place - its not on.
