Guest rooms cost

Siab1982, 31 January, 2014 at 22:02 Posted on Planning 0 27

Just wondering if your venue has rooms for guests to stay over what is the average cost per room? How much is too much to expect your guests to pay?

Our rooms are between £100 - £155 for Bed and Breakfast. I was worried that not many people would want to stay and we'd end up having to pay for quite a few but as it is everyone has booked so far and we probably won't have enough rooms! I think that "how much is too much" really all depends on your guests and what they're getting - we're getting married in Summer in the middle of the Dales and I think that a lot of people are planning on making a weekend of it.

I was wondering the same thing. We've hired a country house that also has lots of camping and glamping cabins. The rooms are £25 per night but not all have their own bathrooms so I feel bad passing on any of the cost especially as it's our family staying in the house with us. However we'll be paying for about 25 people plus breakfasts so it's a lot when you add it up :/ all the local hotels are £150+ per night so £25 doesn't seem bad, bit I'm still not sure!

Ours are between £150-220 for a double room.

We gave our guests information about hotels nearby with cheaper accommodation though as I appreciate that it a lot of money for some people.

I've been having this very problem today! We're getting married in the West Country but most of my side are coming from London. I feel bad them paying around £200 for two nights accommodation but I'm hoping they will make a little holiday of it as it's in August.

    Hi,

Our rooms were between 150-180 but I don't think guests mind paying this. It's less hassle than getting taxis etc.

The hotel rooms at our venue cost from £65 to £170 per night, then there's also lodges which can sleep up to 8, but they're a minimum of 3 night stays, for 8 people for 3 nights it works out at about £35 per person per night. I've also given people details of other places to stay nearby that range in price, I think give people lots of options and time and they'll decide the best thing for them.

Ours cost £93 for a double inc breakfast. That was with a group discount, think they are £130 now as the special rate has ended.

We inculded information in the invites about other hotels nearby too. Personally if i thought the price at the venue was too much i would look around for cheaper off my own back even if no information was included.

Ours are not at our venue but I got a discount rate at a nearby hotel £129 b&b. Pretty reasonable for central London I think.

Ours are £125 for standard double inc breakfast. That's their "special wedding discount" rate. A few have booked via laterooms though and got a superior room for the same price!

I did include details of a B&B just up the road but there's not much else that close by.

Rooms at our venue cost between £160 and £210, but guests didn't have to stay there if they didn't want to. We had the venue exclusively and the only guests staying were wedding guests, and we still booked it up basically. Our website had a list of other nearby hotels.

Ours is £100 for b&b room and you get 10% discount if staying 2 nights, has continental breakfast included but from what I've read it's pretty poor!! There are also cottages on site which u have to have for 3 nights so we'll be in one of those and a few family members will be but sure many other people will take that option as may not want to stay 3 nights. I've listed a whole load of hotels/b&b a of varying price ranges on our wedding website so people have the option then depending on budget

We only have 9 available rooms at our place at about £105 each so gonna give those to immediate family first if they want them, but theres endless b&bs/inns/hotels within 5-15 minutes drive away so we'll include an accommodation info insert in the invites

We've negotiated with a local hotel to get rates at £109 for a twin/double room for a night, including breakfast and use of the gym, pool etc.

However, within 10 minutes of the venue, there is a Travelodge and numerous other hotels, so we're including all of that info on the website

The rooms at our venue range from £85 to £175 per night for 2 adults, with breakfast included. I've put some alternatives on our website but there isn't much close by.

Our rooms are £60 per room (based on 2 sharing) for B&B, with full use of the pool, gym and spa the next day as 'kick out' time isn't until 12noon, extra guests in the room just pay for breakfast at £5pp.

The hotel normally charges between £98-£150, but they have offered all our wedding guests the above discount which also includes the same rate for any additional nights stayed.

Crikey I am beginning to feel like I don't need to worry so much about my rooms at £25pn!! I was worrying though as not all of them have en-suite and some are outdoor.. admittedly they are super duper glamping, but still have to use a shared bathroom.

Thanks ladies, our venue gives us all 22 rooms with the exclusivity so your answers have helped in trying to figure out how to cost them for our guests.
