Gutted.... veil seen

daffodilly, 17 May, 2015 at 20:43 Posted on Planning 0 13

A title states. .. my h2b was looking for a random pair if shorts yesterday and he saw my veil

He wasn't intentionally snooping and thought it was safe as my dress is with the seamstress.

I'm totally gutted. ..He didn't understand why I was so upset

I really wanted everything to be a surprise.

Sorry for the depressing post.

Don't fret too much veil's on a hanger/folded up look completely different to when they are on due to the way they sit, the final look etc. So he only knows you have a veil not the full effect of how it will look like ? in that sense it's still a surprise!

He won't remember. Men just don't care about these things like we do. Ask him tomorrow what he thinks it looked like and I bet you anything that all he'll be able to remember is "white". Don't worry about it!

My mum and one of my bridesmaids gave away to H that I would be wearing a veil. I was gutted as he didn't know and wouldn't have expected me to, but honestly it really isn't as bad as you think. As mentioned, a veil looks completely different on, on their own they just look like a see through sheet, especially to a bloke! It'll still be a surprise x

Thank you for your support and advice ladies.

You're probably right..... white. .... veil.... what veil!

Justin feeling sensitive about it all at the moment too much to do and not enough time. If work would just do one... and stupid house repairs then maybe I could focus on the wedding and be a bit less dramatic/emotional.

Don't worry he won't remember and he didn't see it on you. My h2b saw my dress in the shop window jokingly saying that it was my dress when in fact it was! We also went to a wedding 1st of May where h2b was best man and the bride had a dress on so similar to mine I had to take a double look to see if it was.(also a lot of the same guests too) But he won't remember im sure. It's always different on the day you will take his breath away even if he has seen a glimps of your veil, so don't worry too much lovey all will be fine.

I honestly wouldn’t worry about it – I’m wearing my Mum’s veil and she was so excited that she’d retrieved it down from the attic, she pulled it out the bag to show me without realising my H2B was sat right there in the room with us. And echoing what the others have said – all he could comment on was that it was white – didn’t notice any of the detail at all so I wouldn’t let it get to you x

Don't worry about it! he'll have forgotten what it looked like by the time you get married and they look so different on anyway.

My oh has seen mine, don't think it matters because it will look totally different when it's on my head!

A veil is a veil. It's white, it's transparent. If he knows you're having a veil it doesn't matter that he has seen it as they all look the same to a lot of people and although I don't know your OH he is unlikely to be any different.

Don't worry about it at all. For as long as he did not see it on you, then believe me, it will still be as big a surprise to him on the day as it would have been if he had never seen the veil at all and that's not only because he's a man ?xx

It's just a veil Smiley smile It doesn't show how the dress looks like (and even if it did, nobody would guess).
