Gypsophilia Boquet?

2013_Bride_, 26 January, 2013 at 17:53 Posted on Planning 0 13

Hi,

I think I quite like the idea of gypsophilia boquets for my BMs. I love gypsophilia and think the contrst between My Boquet and the 5 BM will be nice. I really want my flowers to stand out more? rather than just look like a big version of BMs boquets.

What's your thoughts on them? I guess they are considerably cheaper too? Not why Im picking them but any saving held I guess!

    I love them.

If you google images them, you'll see loads of pics.

I think gypsophila is also lovely as table centres too.

I LOVE gyp!!! Had considered it for my own bouquet but have seen too many things I like to decide at the mo. I'd say go with it..... They are so natural and pretty. Did you know you can get coloured varieties too? Xx

I just googled them and i'm loving how pretty they look! I think i may well look into these for my bridesmaids now :-)

I think your right that whilst still having pretty flowers for the BM's yours will stand out against them!

    xx

This is what im going for too, and for the tables as Kristabubble suggested. For mine I was just going to have some wild flowers in it too, just a few.

Thanks all. I'm having them in my table flowers but it is amongst other wild flowers. I was going to have sprouts in my Boquet but the style I'd picked doesnt seem to have any in so I was thinking of making up for it in the bridesmaid boquets. I'm iintrigued to know how much a gypsophilia Boquet is! I've beewow jotted £30 each for my BM Boquet and that's for a version of my Boquet in smaller with different / cheaper roses etc and more 'filler' flowers.

They look gorgeous and lovely when the bride has something a little different to her bridesmaids. One of my brides did that here

I have been quoted £30 each for my bridesmaids. I was going to have ribbon wrapped round in the colour of their dresses - mint green too. x

Hi i am doing this for the same reasons! Love gyp and as i have 8 bridesmaids i think 9 bouquets of roses/peonies would look too much.

I am letting the florist do my own bouquet and the button holes and I am making my bridesmaids bouquets as gyp is so cheap they will probably cost around £10 each for fuller looking bouquets! and the ribbon i am getting from country baskets all in all around £!2 per bouquet.

Just one point to be aware of when you order your gyp to make the bridesmaids' bouquets, is to make sure you order top grade quality gyp which is the one used by florists for wedding work as the cheaper gyp has a bit of an unpleasant whiff about it! The top grade has more 'fluff' on it, stronger stems and is whiter than the cheaper varieties. Hope that helps.
