H may kill me

Dr Doo.Little, 6 September, 2008 at 10:55 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 8

But I couldn't help myself. I've jst emailed a breeder for further details on their new French Lop bunnies. They are gorgeous and I've wanted a French lop for ages, she's emailed back to say they have some due this month, meaning they would be ready in around 10-12 weeks.

So I have a few weeks to bring H around to my way of thinking. I don't think he would be totally adverse to the idea - he already loves the two dwarf lops we have, so getting a new big one wouldn't be too much of a leap.

So this is the kind of one I'm after:

Isn't he just the cutest?

I love bunnies, but i admit i'm a bit intimidated by the size frenchies get! apparently they have very noticeable characters but live for a shorter time than other buns - i think french lops normally make it to about 4.

i do understand the attraction though, buns from the right breeder are so affectionate - it's like having really friendly, peaceful cats. and a bun that size would definitely make an excellent knee-warmer ?

The two dwarf lops we have now have very different personalities, one is a bit ditsy (which is very cute), she loves my H and follows him everywhere but won't have much to do with me. The male bunny is a proper grumpy old man, he sulks and everything. When we moved to our new house we had a garden and we moved them out there in a huge hutch and pen thinking it would be better for them to have a large space to run around in, but unfortunately it has meant that they don't interact with us as much anymore and I would love a frenchie, knowing that they have such affectionate personalities.

Lovely! my housebuns don't get out enough, i'm not a good bunny parent... they say that rabbits tend to prefer owners of the opposite gender. we have two mini lops, boy and girl, so h and i get one each. they seem to like to sit and watch tv with us in the evenings (i note this because they turn round to see it, then sit still), then when they get bored they go for a little hop.

i don't think their lives are very varied though. i've got to work on it.

He is lovely - how could you OH say no?

I want another kitten but as we spend most of our time telling our 'baby' cat (of 6 years) off for jumping on benches/table, scratching furniture, attacking other cat etc etc he keeps saying no!

It took a while for me to convince my OH to get a rabbit but he absolutely loves her now, they curl up watching TV together and all sorts. She's quite tiny as she's a netherland dwarf, I think there's a pic of her in my avatar.
