Had a good day at work today

HaloHoney, 25 June, 2008 at 21:12 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

I work in a shop.

I was in charge today. It was nice and busy, we laughed our way through the day, got loads done - the back of house is sparklingly clean, and we took over 5k which is amazing for a weekday.

We all had a great time and I didn't once have to nag anyone, or be cross, or be frustrated.

I like days like this ?

Anyone else have a good day?

I'm not sure if my day really counts as good in any productive way but it's been relatively easy ?

H played with Noah for a couple of hours this morning so I could have a lie-in. Noah had good (i.e. long) naps. We spent the afternoon in the park. H is out tonight so I've put N to bed without him, made myself a healthy dinner and am about to be off to bed. I think life as a SAHM is all about the small victories ?

No, I've had a crap day and left the office in floods of tears due to me not being able to cope with being told to fuck off by my boss and spoken to like a 6 year old with learning difficulties by one of my direct reports. I hate men in their 60s who don't see what place women have in the workplace.

Your day sounds fab though HaloHoney- wanna swap jobs for a bit?

This is a really nice post to read HH. So much negativity around in general.

And to add to that, well I haven't been at work today but my days at work are rarely good at the moment [:'(] Actually, if I focus on my students alone then they are often good. But the minute my thoughts turn to management, it all goes downhill....

I'm in facilities management for a hospital and I herd 300 cats, some more co-operative than others. It's ok usually, just had a bad week this week. I wouldn't mind flogging expensive laydeez clothes for a change ?

I had a good day. Morning meeting finished early so had a bit of time to drive around Belfast and get a better feel for the place before I caught my plane home. Still quite shocking to my English sensibilities to see all the murals and police stations that would be better suited to downtown Baghdad.

I had a so-so day. very busy. someone trying to jump off a multi storey and someone nearly kiling themsleves by putting their arm through a glass door were incidents of note.

an incident of juvenile shoplifters where the shop phoned the parents saying they'd give them a chance if they'd come down and have a chat, and the parents couldn't be arsed, so we were called to arrest them instead made me want to kill someone

i quite like seeing the murals when i'm in belfast, they are part of a history now and they are slowly working their way through them all now, changing them into positive ones.

The police stations are fab inside, some have swimming pools etc. I really can't imagine one in baghdad ?

Fascinating as an exercise in living social history (although that sounds rather demeaning to those who lived through it) although it's nice to see new murals cropping up like the ones dedicated to the Titanic or Alex Higgins.

Incidentally, what are all the flags out for at the moment? Was driving down the Shankhill Road this morning and there was bunting and flags everywhere?

Rhys went to nursery today and I had my first breathing space from a whinging grumpy sick bag since last Thurs morning. The fact that I'm not 100% healthy and had to work didn't change the fact it was good to be child-free for a day!

Oh and I did something that was a massive relief to get over with.

Ahh, it's nice to hear of people having nice days! (Aside from poor you, Carrot ?).

Today has been so-so. On the plus side, got lots done in the house, booked a haircut and made some more fabulous bread. Must...stop..eating the bread. However, the sprog is ill and although she's been very cheerful all day, has really struggled to sleep.

I think they used to start earlier didn't they? They also seem quicker to put them up than take them down round here ?

When you say meeting BGB was it more of a presentation? [paranoid icon]
