Hair and Jewellery help!!

sian-tiffany, 7 February, 2012 at 12:54 Posted on Planning 0 16

Hi,

This is a picture of my dress, i have no idea what to do with my hair and what accessories to wear. I have long red wavey hair and a sweeping fringe. I have a plain elbow length veil but im really stuck on what to do with my hair and if i should put anything in it? Just looked at my ticker and realised i really need to get cracking! Any ideas?

I love this hair style Smiley smile how are you wearing your veil? to top of the head, middle back or bottom? This would be beautiful with the veil at the top and perhaps a custom made lace band or comb positioned at the veil comb, like the one below that we make, but a lot simpler.

    Hi

without seeing what you actaully look like it is impossible to suggest a hairstyle really. However I have lots of options for you to look at when you decide, whether you need a tiara or a side tiara.

Some other other Hitchers have had these which are all wildly different

I love the vintage look of the first comb. I was thinking about maybe down and curly with a few pieces of hair swept back, like half up with a nice slid and the veil sat in the gathering so i can take it out without any hastle?

That sounds lovely, and with a strapless dress the hair down will work well Smiley smile

    Hi ?

Jewellery wise, I think I would suggest either long drop/chandelier earrings and no necklace OR smaller earrings and either a simple pearl necklace or dainty pendant necklace on a fine chain. You could always add a little bracelet to match.

I think either plain pearls or something with an added vintage style sparkle!

Oh, and your dress is soooo stunning! I love it!

Take a little look at my website below for some designs. Many designs can be tailored to suit your particular requirements. Hope I can help!!

Here are a few pics to get you started:-

    What a gorgeous dress!

With regards to your hair, everyone suits different styles but when I saw your dress I thought of a half up half down style with a side fringe. Like how I wore mine actually! My hair is actually red too but highlighted and naturally curly but I had it curled for the wedding. This style would suit a side tiara / tiara / band beautifully and you could easily position your veil in the gathered hair at the back.

    Pearls and Crystals:

Hope that gives you some ideas - there are plenty more on www.louloubelle.co.uk - if I can help at all or if you'd like to go through some ideas please drop me an email on ****@***********.**.**

    Hi,

    Your dress is beautiful ❤️

Here are some of my brand new designs that would suit your hairstyle. I definitely think pearls and some sparkles, or all pearls, would complement your dress the best.

This is made with Swarovski AB and Clear Crystals but pearls can be used no problem

This is the Florence collection that I feel always matches vintage/lacy style dresses.

    Some jewellery ideas

Plenty more designs at www.lynseysdesigns.co.uk and https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.153136698035556.35098.138437779505448&type=3#!/media/albums/?id=138437779505448. I've got a new website being launched soon so the website I've posted doesn't contain any details but please just ask for any prices etc. I can also send you the link to the new website before it is actually live.

    Hi,beautiful girl,

I think your dress is totally white,so the garish jewelry and veil doesn't suit you.

    Do you like these matches??

Loving all the ideas, i think im going to hunt for pearls. Im on a tight budget (as are most people) so will need to look in the high street. Does anyone know any good high street shops? Thank you so much for your help BTW.

I am going to a shop local to me called "wedding nites" they have open evenings and hairdressers coming in to help brides and are doing free hair trials on the night. They just do bridal accessories and you can even take your dress in (not sure where you are but there maybe somewhere near you that dies this sort of evening?) All the dates are on their website www.weddingnites.co.uk

    Hi Sian,

First you need to decide how you want to have your hair - up, down, half up, etc. Once you have found a hair style then it is easier to know what to buy. I stock my pieces in a wedding shop and the lady who owns it always advises brides to decide the style before the tiara!!! SO my advice would be to look at tiaras and combs but try to think of the style first.

Anyway - I have lots of tiaras, hair pieces and jewellery on my site for you to look at:

If you want to share your ideal budget either on here or via email then I'm happy to see if my designs can be tailored to suit if they are currently too expensive. High Street designs are constantly not always cheaper than handmade. x

I'd like to second this, and ask whether they're natural or cultured pearls? Or are they beads?
