hair and make up budget?

MrsS29, 1 August, 2010 at 21:49 Posted on Planning 0 4

Can i just be cheeky and ask you all how much your budget is or what your paying for your hair and make up?

Im not sure what is expensive, i've seen prices from £30 to £100 for bridal make up so im a bit unsure.

Thanks for any help Smiley smile

It totally depends on where you are in the country.

I was really lucky with my hair and make up:

Hair trial £12.50 and on the day £12.50 - total £25 for hair

Make up trial £20 and on the day £25 (including some eyelash extensions at the corners) - total £45 for make up

Total spent on hair and makeup was £70 but I think that is fairly cheap from what I seen.

    Good luck

The prices I have seen are completely extortionate - The biggest eye opener was a TRIAL hair do for £95!

Luckily, my best friend and bridesmaid is a Hairdresser, so she is going to do the hair for us, maybe along with her friend who works in the salon with her (She's won tons of awards for her amazing styles!) so I will be getting it all done very cheaply!

Make-up, I don't wear alot of make-up anyway so will either do it myself or get my bridesmaids to have a play.

Nails - My sister's cousin-in-law and my friend is a nail beautician so I'm going to get acrylics, mates rates of course.

Overall, my budget is gonna be very little.. Thankfully! Considering the saving, I may have a spa day with my girlies.

I am also looking into this at the moment. I'm in London and most people I have contacted are charging about £140 for make up only (inc. trial). For hair and make up - on the day and with a trial - it seems like it's going to be about £240. SHOCKER! These are good people though - there are cheaper out there but I am being a bit fussy as I don't want to take any chances on this big day! But then who does!? I haven't made a booking because I am trying to talk myself into spending that much on hair and make up. I don't think my budget can stretch to it to be honest.

I'm not much help really because i'm quite lucky with the people I have around me.

    MAKE UP!

One of my best mates is a trained make-up artists and has done my make-up many a time, so I just have to buy my make-up we decide on. But on the actual day my attendants will also be having it done.

    HAIR!

Again two friends of the family are going to open their salon up on a sunday for me and my sis to have our hair done. So that will be next to nothing.

But it really depends on what area your in and who it's all for.

I feel exactly the same Joanna. I never realised it was this expensive and like you i dont want to go with someone cheaper and take the risk of not liking it or any other problems!

I told my mum and sisters how much i'd been quoted and they were shocked, but my sister got married 6 years ago so i dont think they've realised how much prices have gone up since then.

Thanks for your replies ladies, i've emailed a few people for quotes so hopefully i'll hear back soon and not fall off my chair again ?

    xx
