Hair and Make up question!!

mrslowndes2b, 19 September, 2009 at 21:29 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi all just wondering for a general opinion....

I have a mane of hair that needs lots of TLC just to look semi normal - it has a complete mind of its own!!! - well you guys can see my photo!! lol saying that tho I never tie my hair up as I feel a have sticky out ears ( I really hate them) so for my wedding I want my hair down so I know Im going to need a hair dresser to do my hair basically I have found this lady who does hair and make up for me and my three bridesmaids trial and on the day for £525 I dont know if this is expensive or not? initially I was just going to have our hair done but as its only afew quid extra for make up as well I thought why not!!

What do we think expensive a bargain or about right???

Thanks

Claire xx

I'm not sure cos I'm just in the process of getting hair and make-up booked but it does seem a little on the expensive side.

My hair trials so far have been £14 each session and presume it will be the same for my BMs when we go in January. On the day I would expect it to be about the same if not a bit more.

Make-up, what I've seen so far for me is about £25/30 each for a trial and same again on the day for each of us.

I'm sure it will depend a lot on where you are though and wether you are getting somebody to come out to the house/hotel etc

So far its £120 for my hair and make up on the day - and £60 quid per bridesmaid for hair and make up on the day trial is £50 quid for bridesmaid and £75 for me so does seem abit expensive in comparrision hmmmm right I may need to go yell.com - its abit quite tonight I think were the only ones on!

    thanks

Yeah, I think that does seem a little expensive. Try and get another couple of prices so you can compare.

Don't know where everybody is tonight - out enjoying themselves possibly?!?!?

It all depends where you are.

That sounds quite good if you are in my area (london and surrey) and if the stylist/mua is coming to you. i only do hair, but work with quite a few mua's and their prices do vary from artist to artist and what products they use.

whats also important is if you like the artist. Its much easier to convey what you want to look like , with somone you have a rapport with. You don't want to feeel intimidated and not be able to say you don't like what they have done at the trial.

search for a few more artists, then give them a call, you'll know once you have spoken to them whether they are right for you.

That sounds pretty good to me!

Mine is costing about that for myself, my mum, and 2 bridesmaids but that only includes a trial for me!

Sounds about what i am paying too. It is a huge amount of money but seems to be the going rate in the south east!

Depends on what area you are in and who it is, my friend paid around that for her self and 3 BM's for hair only.

Get yourself a few more quotes and decide that way.

I'm in Leeds and mine is costing £150 for just me.....that includes trial hair and make up and on the day hair and make up. Does depend on going rates for where you are in the country.
