hair and makeup timings question.

Elixia, 4 February, 2014 at 20:08 Posted on Planning 0 6

I was suppose to have my trail tonight but the lady was sick with a tummy bug. i was gonna ask and figure out what timing would be since people are starting to ask me, namely tog and bridesmaids so they can arrange when to arrive and some of the bridesmaids are going to the hairdressers in the morning,

so it me for hair and makeup, loose half up do and 3 BM's for makeup, wedding at 2pm. need a hour to travel there at the latest (even thats playing safe) I was thinking an 9am start?

I have been told to allow 45mins - 1hr for bridal make up. It was pretty much bang on 45mins at my trail.

Not sure about BMs as they are doing their own.

My hair dresses advised me to allow 30mins each BM and mum for hair up and mine will be 20mins for rollers to go in, they will be in for 5hrs (playing it safe) and 20mins to pin my hair half up after.

My wedding is at 2pm - I'll be having bridal hair at my mums, finished at the venue, hours drive away too. My hair dresser is starting at 7.30 only because she is also a guest so needs to get ready too, but is coming at 12.30 to finish my hair and touch up the others hair if needed.

This timing stuff is like a military operation isn't it!!

I think 9am should be ok, sounds fine and always best to have some time left over as there'll maybe be some last minute running mad etc.
I'd be tempted to start at 8am but i'm panicky like that ?

    Oooooooooh 7:30am? theres a 7:30am? i thought that was a myth!

well hopefully i can talk to her tomorrow and clear this up Smiley smile even if my new appointments not for another week just a rough idea would be grand. the problem i can forsee is my hair, its thick so its a little time consuming that why I'm going for some wave and soft ringlets if i can, my hair natural curls into ringlets or waves and hopefully that goes in the hairdressers favor! it does for me in the summer!

My wedding is at 1pm, venue a 2 minutes drive away, but my hairdresser is coming at 8:30! The trial took about an hour max but I wanted to allow 1.5 hours to be safe, thn my make up girl is coming at 10:00, want to allow an hour for that too. I've put 11am as 'getting dressed' time, just because my photographer wants to be there by about 11:30 - 11:45 to take pics of us at my parents' house, as he will then want to go to the venue to set up. If it was up to me I would have him arriving later (say 12:00 - 12:15) so I would've been able to push everything back half an hour. I'd rather be sat ready waiting than rushing though!

Hi, I had my hair and make trial yesterday. I have three bridesmaid, flowergirl and myself and the lady, who is doing make up and hair, has said to allow four hours. Hope this helps x

I had my trial on Saturday and my hairdresser has suggested 8.30am to do my hair, three bridesmaids, Mother of the Bride blowdry and whatever she can manage with my toddler flower girl's hair! We are getting pikced up the leave for the venue at 2pm and she said she will stay until the cars arrive todo any touch ups if needed,

Hmmm thats a lot to process. so if makeup takes and hour and hair roughly an hour I would average a guess at bridesmaids being 30-45 minutes for makeup. so ball park figure of 4.5 hours for everyone. i should leave by 12 noon to there with plenty of times, sooooo yeah sounds like 7:30am! that leaves an hour over run. jeez.

Photography wanted to get there early so she could do the bridal prep Smiley atonished i feel sorry for her thats super early, same for the makeup and hair peeps but the TOG gonna be on her feet all day!
