Hey, I am just wondering how far in advance to have hair and makeup trials?

    Hi,

I usually book a makeup trial in approx 6-8 weeks beforehand re the wedding date. As by then you know y Ur dress, colours, bridesmaid dress colours etc. But I do say to brides if they want one sooner that's not a problem as some people want to make sure they have booked the right person early on in case they want they want to change artists.

I would contact your hairdresser and MUA and ask them when to book one in, but if you want one sooner rather than later tell them and they should be happy to fit one in if they have space.

    Aimee x

Mine is 4 months in advance- early April for an early August wedding, but that's because that's when I and the makeup artist and hairdresser were all available.

I totally agree with Aimee. I would also usually recommend 2-3 months before the wedding if you can. But will also accommodate earlier trials. Most hair and make-up artists will.

My make-up trial is in April, 4 months before the wedding - mainly because my MUA is much busier in May and June, and we wanted to get it sorted sooner rather than later.

For my hair, I've got my usual hairdresser so I'll just get her to do a trial next time I get a cut.

I'm having a hair trial in March although I don't get married until May 2017 but she is going to give me some ideas to think about and try various hair accessories so I can decide what I want to buy or get made.

My MUA said she would do a trial whenever I wanted one and also suggested doing one this year but I am going to wait until after the summer as it just feels too early at the moment!
