Hair and Shoes Dilemma...Please Help!! With Flashes if possible...

laura2107, 22 February, 2011 at 13:57 Posted on Planning 0 18

Hi Girls,

I am having a real dilemma...I dont know how to have my hair. I originally wanted it down and curly but as my hair is naturally straight I think it will allo drop out by the end of the day. I have thought about having a loose bun on the side but I am not sure now, as I have never had this done so not sure if it will suit me! I was so set on having my hair down i even went and bought a headband with diamonds and pearls that I loved and now im not so sure! If that wasnt enough I cant find shoes that I like anywhere!! They are either too high or too low. I want modern sandal-ey type shoes, maybe peep toe shoes that are mid height...do any of you have some nice shoes that you can show me if possible? I dont want to spend more than about £80...any ideas?

Thank you, you lovely ladies...any help would be appreciated!!! ❤️

xx

    Any excuse to flash..

I am hoping to have my hair like this - my hair is naturally quite straight to so my concern is also will the curls stay in, in fact I would proabably like them a little looser than in the pic, Ill know more after my trail next month

Oh Wow!!! I love them both!!!!

Where did you get your shoes from? Were they expensive (if you dont mind me asking?) you dont have to say if you would prefer not to.

That hair stayle is exactly what i am looking for although we seem to both have the same dilemma! ha! I hope my curls would stay in, I very rarely have my hair curly so it would make a nice change for me. I wanted something that was out of my face but still looked amazing! I hope you dont mind but I am thinking of stealing your idea!!! I have my hair trial on 24th March, when is yours? Can you flash me a pic again once you have tried it out? would love to see it!!!

You have saved my day and also seem to have similar tast to me. I find quitea few people on here have an older taste to me.

    Thank you!! xx

Thanks Laura, I'm thrilled you like them and if I have inspired you even better!!! My shoes are Filippa Scott, I paid £120 for them a bit out of your said budget but I would definitely recommend them they are amazingly comfortable with only a 3"heel and just look great.

With the hair thing I may even consider a hair peice just something very slight that is already wavey its a thought but as I said until I have my trials I dont really know. This hair style is suited to me because I didnt ever want a tiara so Ill have something similar to what she has in her hair, wherther it be a flower or a clip or a slide of some sort. My hair trial is a week after yours funnily enough, Ill definitely post a pic on here for you to see. How long is your hair? Mine is about 2" past my shoulders it needs to be a bit longer really to hold the curls I want I just hope it grows in time but then again the hair peice could be the answer.

Have you got your dress? x

I guess you have to pay for comfort and that is only £30 more than what I was intending to spend and its one day you will not do again. Yes you have definitley inspired me!!

Its mad how you seem to have similar ideas to me! I was going to a shop near me that my hair dresser friend reccommends they do clip in extentions which are really realistic and about £19 a strip and you cut to the size you want and add the clips to it so you can stitch them where you like so you wont see them through your hair. I thought the same in that the curls should last longer in those so if my hair does fall then the extentions should keep the curl and still look nice. I saw some nice slide clips in a bridal shop near me but i find that they are soo heavy and my hair is so soft it would just slide out! I bought a head band from Debenhams which was a bargain at £30 but i think i might return them so I can have a look more like this.

Yes I have my dress, well I have ordered it. I ordered it back in October and its a Ronald Joyce dress. I had to wait for it to be made in America and sent over. Hoping to get a call this week to say its come in. I rang last week and they said 10 days, which is tomorrow. Not that im counting!! How about you, do you have yours? whats it like? Where abouts are you getting married?

    xx

My hair is really straight but I'm going for the half up half down look hopefully. I have my trial next week and going in at 9am so I can see how long it lasts! I'll let you know afterwards!

These are my shoes - In ivory and so comfortable too! Cost £69.99 from Berketex (Belle Moonstone)

My hair is very straight and very fine so i have got clip in remy hair to make it more full and hope to have it like this...

My sister had her hair curld for her wedding the woman put the bendy curlars in the night befor and took them out the day of the wedding and the curles stayed in untill she washed it the day after the wedding she has hair like mine as well. As long as you get a good hair dresser the curls will stay in.

Fingers crossed you get the call! You must be so excited. I hadnt noticed your ticker before so I didnt realise that your wedding is so close. Have you got much else to do then? I have my dress Ive had it over a year now lol! My dress is Mireia by Pronovias its really lovely (have a look on the net if you get chance) just having my fittings as it was a sample dress so its a bit to big at the mo. I'm getting married in Yarm which is a little village in North Yorkshire, how about you? x

Thanks girls, its good to see that I'm not the only one with fickle hair!!! You will all have to message me your trial pictures. I cant wait to see them all!

claire_lou - I will try and look for your dress when I have my lunch break, pronovias have really nice dresses. I cant wait to get that call i am sooo desperate i might call them this afternoon to check and see. If it has come in i want to book an appointment to try it on. I only ordered it in october because we were originally getting married in 2012 before we realised we can move it forward a year.

If we are all going to try these foam curlers, can you all let me know what you think after or how long they stayed in? it would be greatly appreciated and could be my research! hehe Smiley winking

I am getting married in Dunton, Essex. You are very far away from me then, it sounds so romantic to get married in a little village :-) I dont think there are many essex brides on here! I cant wait for the big day now. Most is planned and booked, just waiting for the wedding to come closer when we have final meetings and pay the remaining amounts and have fittings etc. Did you have many fittings? do they do them in your bridal shop? My shop have given me numbers of local dressmakers and i am not sure when i should call them. do i need to tell them that i will be bringing my dress there soon? or do i just wait? i like to be organised, as you can tell!!

Oh god yeh we couldnt be any further away lol. I cant wait to get to your point when its just really the dotting of the i's and crossing of the t's, I still have alot to do but tyring to think about it because it feaks me out everytime I do. I've only had one dress fitting so far, and yes they do it in my shop which is a huge bonus as they store the dress there to. If I were you I'd try and get some recommendations for a seamstress, and then just give them a ring to make an appointment, check prices first though, I know they can vary quite alot. I cant wait to see a flash of your dress when it finally arrives Smiley smile

Well were not fully at the point of dotting the i's and crossing the T's as we still need to set a few things in concrete. We have our meeting with the venue on 12th March to discuss final things and then one week before we have our last meeting! We have everything booked which is a plus. I am debating on a magician...i dont usually like them but we have THE most amazing one at my work xmas party and im slightly considering it. what do you have as entertainment? we have a harpist playing until the speeches, do you think that is enough?

I will send you a flash for def!!! I will email it to you Smiley smile I am still sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for my mobile to ring!!!! i bet they wont even call today.

I am going to try and find your dress now and have a peek Smiley smile x

At least you can relax a little now knowing that all the big things are done. I went to a wedding last year they had a magician and he was really good. We are having strings playing at the church and on to the reception and then in the evening we are having a live band play, I would have liked a little something else not quite sure what but our budget wont allow it anyway.

Ahh you poor thing I'd be chomping at the bit lol! x

The foam bendy curls kept my hair curly untill i washed it the next day and my hair dose not stay curly even with a perm (yrs ago) but you have to have day old hair and it has to be put in dry with nothing on it.

i have got these shoes for the wedding i dnt wear heels ever but these i could wear all day they have a silver button not gold
