Hair... Anyone wearing it down...?

GeordieBarbie, 18 April, 2010 at 10:10 Posted on Planning 0 25

Still having hair issues! Now thinking of having it down. I always ruled it out for fear of it being "boring" but after looking at pictures of me with my hair up and my hair down, I'm prefering it down!

Still want to wear the veil and tiara, I just can't work out in my head what it would look like...

Can you try out your preferred down style with both the tiara and veil and see what you think.

I'm definitely wearing mine down as I don't fee like me with it up. x

    That's the trouble - I don't have a preferred style yet! ?

My hair is layered, just above bra strap length with a sweepy fringe...

    How you having yours??

Sounds very similiar to mine at them moment. My avatar is about 18months old now.

Mine is very naturally curly which i Fight with my GHD's on a daily basis. so I prob won;t fight it and have it curly I really like

this one which someone else flashed or kelly O and Charlize Therons in this one.

    or even Jessica Simpson's. x

Im wearing mine down I hate my profile with it up.

Im usualy a slave to my GHDs so I think I might have some loose curls put through it for the day

Im not having a veil though so cant help with that.

OMG i am having the same problems, i really don't know!!!! Am having a veil and tiara (beginning to think i shouldn't now!) Have had a hair trial (with up, down, half up half down) and still don't know! Can't say any of them are 'the one'!! The veil is really heavy and long with lots of beading and my hair is just past my shoulders and very fine. I give up, am tempted to get it cut very short again (had short bob when i got engaged and have been growing it out so i had more options) but then i don't think i could get the veil to stay in! Have less then two months to go and surely we have to make a decision some time right?! I can't afford to keep paying for hair trials, so my friends tried a style out on me last night, but i think i have hair depression now and just don't have a clue any more!!

Yeay! SO glad it's not just me. I'm just debating whether to go and wash my hair and have a play about. I'm not very good at doing much else other than straight but might make me feel better... ?

I posted this one last week I think, I really like it and perfect for someone like me who is used to not really doing anything with her hair other than having it tied back or straightened lol reckon you could easily still wear a tiara and a veil with something like this

Vickstix - no problems! I trawled the internet for AGEs trying to find something liek that picture so if it stops someone wasting hours like I did then go for it lol!

A tip for you about it - I went into my local hairdresser and showed him that photo and asked how much it would be to do it for the wedding. He said he could do something like that just by blow drying - so as a result he reckon I would only have to pay for a long ahir blow dry - which at my local salon is about £20! Much better than the £50+ I was quoted by another well known salon because it would be their bridal package as i was getting married.

Thanks for that tip. I'm now getting my hairdresser to do it. She luckily came back from travelling. I'm not getting married til September so got some time to have a few trials. x

I think I will be going for something like this - with flower... my dress has flowers on it and I've just found out that the designer can provide additional flowers.. yay!

I know i thought it was just me too!! How did your play about go? the more i seem to do the more fed up i get! Two of my friends had a play about with it last night and i think i liked it more than the ones more than the hair trial, but am so fed up with looking at pictures i just don't know now (that was half up and half down, which the hairdresser did too, but the curls were looser on this one and you could see them more at the front)! I wish i had known it would be this difficult. The dress was easy compared to this, at least you get to try loads on for free, unlike a hair trial!!

The trouble is until you find the one that you like and feel happy with it doesn't matter what anyone else suggests or says!!

Im pretty much having my hair down, with just a bit pinned back and a flower clips in the back, bit like this

I don't really wear my hair up, I always have it down, so I know I'll be more comfortable with it down, I'll look 'like me' and I don't think it's plain.

At the moment, I'm not fancying half up half down.

The more I look now, the more I want it down. I just don't know how it will look!

Luckily, my hairdresser is a friend and I get hair trials for free. Will have to arrange to go and seem him for another practice.

Hi Geordiebarbie and fellow unknown what to do with your hair bride! Did you go back for another trial?

I had pretty much decided on half up half down (as was aorried about my pathetic hair not holding a curl and the veil being really heavy!) but my OT commented this evening that he really doesn't like half up half down because he thinks it looks like your hair doesn't know what to do. Said he prefers all down or all up!

So I think I am going to go with all down too. Not sure what to do about curling it, as without curling it looks like i have just plonked the tiara on my head and am playing dress ups! Think it needs some lift behind the tiara! Either way I think I am preferring down too!

Have a wee think about the some up, rest down - not quite half and half if you know what i mean - see if your friend will just put a wee bit up so it will hold you tiara and veil in.

    maybe something like that maybe??

    Thanks girlies!!

I think i'm slowly getting there. Have a bit of play every now and again with mine and think I know what I want.

I'm wanting a kinda half-up do but not a full one. So instead of taking the half up from my ears, it's more the small section from my temples - if that makes sense? I've tried it straight and do kinda like it - sure it'll look much nicer when a hairdresser blow dries it much nicer - with defined layers and natural body (rather than my well straightened flat style)

So I want to try 2 options - one with it more with a natural flick to it (defining the layers) and one with more of an actual curl.

I definitely prefer myself with my hair down...

Just got to get a trial date sorted.
