Hair Inspiration!

(Claire), 19 May, 2014 at 16:47 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 13

Help me Otters I need some help with my hair. So I went back to being a red head, massive deal for me with being blonde for the last 16 years! Anyway I like the colour but it's long and boring with no style. I want to keep the length but I have no idea how to have it cut. Give me some ideas please. I have no fringe a centre parting and the length is about an inch past my boobs!

Ooh, What shape is your face?

Is your hair thick/thin? Curly/naturally poker straight?

how long do you have each morning to spend on your hair? I'm lazy and although I'd love to have a coiffed do,..I'd much prefer the extra minutes in bed! Smiley winking

My face is oval, and my hair is very thick, and I'm very lazy when it comes to my hair so the easier to style the better.

Have some layers chopped in, no shorter than chin length. It will give your hair some movement and when you have it blow dried you can have it all big and bouncy! I have a long centre parted fringe type thing, which can be clipped back or left down (it comes to my cheekbones) depending on my mood.

Cheers Rodders, the other thing is I don't want layers to short because I like to tie my hair back at work and hate those bits that fall forward! So chin length would be ok.

    It's lovely K.

This pic was taken only Saturday and as you can see there is nothing to it. It needs some choppy layers maybe a few inches off the length and I might go for a sweeping fringe but I've had them in the past and I can never get it to look right.

It's a difficult one which I've always struggled with. I go in asking for a "style", but I find unless you're going for a dramatic change in length, there's only so much they can do with layers. I think I'd go for long layers all round, with soft long layers framing your face.

Love the colour by the way, really suits you.

If you're not too keen on shorter layers or length, how about wearing it in different styles? You can do amazing things with some curlers or ghds?

Even grabbing sections, twiddle them around your fingers, then tie with hair ties. You'll look like bjork. Then go to sleep/clean/get ready etc. undo all of them, and hey presto, you'll have lovely curls.

or get it coloured? Some low lights? Highlights? That'll give you a bit of a change?

I had mine all chopped off to an a line bob. It's now grown down to my shoulders and I'm quite enjoying experimenting with different hair styles. When it was just one length down my back, I got lazy and just used to tie it up most of the time.

Ahhh thanks Pompey. I actually love the colour but I feel it needs something to make it a bit more interesting.
