Hair & Make up Trial

SpreadsheetsRUs, 4 August, 2016 at 14:50 Posted on Planning 0 8

This is a bit of a pointless post, but wanted to see what other people were doing...

I have my makeup trial in a few weeks, and it's on a Friday night after work. I was already going out with my boyfriend that evening for a meal and drinks, so thought yippee I will look great; and can see how long it all lasts.

Someone just mentioned to me that it should be a surprise; and so now I am doubting it - did you let your other halves see you after you hair and makeup trial?

Just seems a waste on a Friday night to wash it all off to then only do it myself again (to inevitably a much lesser standard!)

Thanks

I agree it's a waste and you wont know how it lasts. Can you change the trial to another date when you can go out with finds and test its staying power? Unless you dnt mind he will have seen you wedding ready apart from being dressed.

How about just asking MUA to change it a bit before leaving so you still look good but it's not exactly as it'll be on the day.

Also, he's a man he'll never remember Smiley winking

I agree, might as well get your money's worth by keeping it on, and he won't be able to picture everything together for the full effect until he sees you.

I didn't want my OH to see me as I never wear make-up and I want to surprise him with a full face on. But I did walk home with it on and my blingy headband in, on a Saturday morning, so I could show the kids and see what they thought lol.

I went out with OH for meal after getting my hair and make up trial. He said it looked nice but I very much doubt he will remember how it looked on the day with dress and hair accessories. I actually felt relieved that he liked the style and the whole look with the dress will still be a surprise. I was also able to test how long the hair and make up lasted.

    Thanks everyone Smiley smile

I spoke to him about it last night and he said he didn't want to see it! I thought he wouldn't care; and would think I was being daft! He's surprisingly observant for a bloke as well!

I think what I might do is change the hair a bit (having it curly and half up/half down, so might put it all down and run my fingers through it) and maybe take off and redo the eye make up - good idea about asking her to change it a bit for me!

That way I can test the curls holding a bit; and the foundation staying power which is the main thing!

Otherwise could you lie and say that the hair is a style that you are trying for the bridesmaids? That's what I told mine! He wouldn't remember anyway ha ha

Can you not go out with your friends instead that evening and another night go out for dinner with him? It would be a shame to not be able to test your exact hair and make up to see how long it lasts x
