Hair & Make Up Trial Timing

Mrs-Riley, 25 January, 2016 at 14:36 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi Hitchers.

Now I'm over the hump of Christmas & New Year, if feels like it's so much closer to the wedding! Because I'm a bit of an organised freak, I'm going through all the appointments and dates I need to book in my diary in the run up to the wedding and realised I have to sort my hair & make up trial out.

I know a lot of ladies would normally get it done and time it with a special occasion, but I don't have anything like tha, so just wondering when best to get it done.

I'm getting married 5th August- when would you think it best for me to go?

I'm having mine around 6 weeks before I think. I've been growing my hair out so didn't want to have it too early. Are you able to have your trial on a weekday? I imagine most hair and makeup artists will be pretty booked up for weekends in June and July.

I'm getting married 1st August this year and have just booked my trial for 11th Feb - might be best to ask your hair person and MUA when they would recommend you have it...

I'm getting married in May and having hair and make-up trial on 19th Feb - partly because it has to be half term for my sisters.

My make-up lady mentioned about the natural light etc as this affects your make up - your MUA will know which month is best and similar to your wedding day.

I'm so excited for mine! eeeek!

I'm getting married in 2 months and I had my make up trial last saturday, and I had my hair trial 3 months before the date. I did have them booked in at 6 months before though so I could get a date that suited me well

Getting married in May, having my trial on the 6th Feb. I think this is a bit early, but it was one of 2 dates that she was available for. I'd have rather had it end of March, because your hair isn't going to have grown in that space of time, so it'll be a truer representation of your hair length on the day.

Or, if you know roughly what you want, why not get the hairdresser's professional opinion as to when.

We're getting married in 5.5 weeks time. My make up trial will be sometime in Feb (not yet in the diary) and my hair trial is this weekend (right before my dress fitting!)

    Hi,

i usually book my brides in for their makeup trial around 6-8 weeks before their wedding date. But if they want one sooner then that's not a problem. I also try to do them during the day in the week. This is due to being booked up with weddings and other events over the weekend and during the day you get the best natural light which is perfect for makeup.

I would contact your MUA and hairdresser to find out when they usually carry out their trials as each of us are different. That way you know when to plan for.

Hi date twin! I've booked mine for 5th June, so nine weeks before. My parents are staying us with that weekend, so while Mr C and my dad are watching cars go round a track, my mum and I will do my hair and makeup trial. They live down in Sussex so she hasn't been involved in much of the planning, so this will be a bit special.

I'm getting hitched in 5 weeks and had a hair trial and make up trial way back in September! I only did this so early as I'm a bit of a control freak and wanted to make sure I liked my hair and make up and if not I had breathing room to find someone else! Had finals last weekend Smiley smile

I'm getting married the week before you and my MU trial is at the end of February. I wanted to give myself plenty of time in case I wanted to think about changing any of it. Subsequently it's worked out quite well that I'm having it early because my MUA is going on maternity leave between then and the wedding so I don't know when we would have squeezed it in otherwise.

Need to book my hair trial, I might make that my job for today.

    Thanks for the help ladies.

I have popped my H&MUA an email to see whether she can fit me in at the end of May. I will then only have a trim of dead ends from my hair between then and the wedding - my hair never seems to grow!
