Hair Removal Cream

Gracey, 11 April, 2014 at 09:37 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

Does anyone use this?? I mean as opposed to razors, epilators or waxing??

I sometimes do but it seems to take me pretty much the whole tube to cover my legs... So I just wondered whether I was doing it right!! Simple and slightly embarrassing question sorry!! Basically are you supposed to rub the stuff kind of 'in' to your legs like you would moisturiser / sun tan cream, or are you just supposed to kind of wipe it on and 'leave it' so it's still quite thick?!?!

Plus when people use it... I find the hair On my legs grows back super quick too, mind you it does with razors too... ? annoying.

Odd question lol... But where other than here would I find the answer ?

I *think* you're meant to leave a thick layer sat on your skin rather than rub it in. That's what I do anyway! It is a major faff to use, but it's the only method of hair removal that doesn't give me a rash.

Hi InkedDoll yes I usually do that, but this morning (partly cause I couldn't find the silly little paddle thing) I didn't fully rub it in, but rather than the thick layer (which is what I usually do, am I repeating myself lol?!) I kind of semi rubbed it in- and it seemed to work!! So both methods obviously are fine ?

fascinating topic for a Friday ?

I've tried these creams a few times and each time I've been left with hair in random patches...I've probably just applied it wrong but I stick to razors now anyway.

Might brave a wax someday ?

This has happened to me too and I even invoked the help of my engineer husband to ensure I covered all of my legs but it didn't work, some bits just wouldn't remove! That's why I stick to waxing these days (when I can afford it) or just a good ol razor when funds are tight!

I used to e left with 'patches' too, but I find when removing the cream if I 'scrub' my legs to remove the cream rather than just washing it away - usually with a shower pouffe washy thing (technical term!) it comes off waaaayyy better!!

I am quite hairy, blame it in polycystic ovaries. I use immac/veet on hair, under amr and legs.

you're definitely not supposed to rub it in - don't know how you would anyway it's so thick. a good thick layer, all over. I never take any notice of the 3 - 6 minutes. I have a sunday morning ritual... put it on my legs, put the coffee machine on... that's at least 5 minutes, pour the coffee... fret that I can't do much else without worrying about dropping cream everywhere.

the scraper thing that comes within it is good. very ocassionally I get a couple of hairs left/never a patch - think that's just where I've not put enough cream on or haven't quite left it enough.

also - a friend of mine when I was at school told me you could re-use it.... that would help if you find you're using a lot... don't know what she stored it in cos obviously won't fit back in the tube ?

I only use cream on my upper lip currently and shave underarms and legs but thinking of trying it out on my underarms as shaving seems to give the skin a greyish tint; which ones the best to use?

I've always thought that it should be left to sit on skin and I leave it on for the maximum time but I too find that some hairs don't remove but I pluck those and they come out super easy so I think the cream must have worked on them a bit.

This is probably TMI, and I really don't know if I should be pitching in here as I'm not a proper OT'er, however:

I tend to used Veet for bikini tidy up, rather than armpits/ legs, because I don't want to go near wax and and using a razor thereabouts seems a tad dangerous. Never had any problems with patches, but I tend not to use the scraper thing but just wash off in shower.
