Hair Trial... not sure **first ever flash**

tressls, 15 July, 2011 at 15:25 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi there AGAIN!

Sorry- post central today.

Anyway.. just been to local hairdressers for a hair trial. Pics below. Not as bad as I thought but not what I orginally had in mind. I was thinking one of those low, bouffant, curly side buns with curly bits around the face.. 'tendrils' maybe. Either that or a curly down-do with a few bits up at the top.

Either way it seems the hairdresser was more for this do... which is popular apparantly. Just wondered what you thought. I am conscious that I have a fat face and hence wanting a low side bun peeking out (with volume around it, not slapped scraped back), to balance my face out. Or the down-do. I have a face from the side that I think slopes down to a bit of a chinny point and I wondered if the scraped back side of this do would make that all the more noticeable.

Opinions please- It was £15 today, £15 on the day (for a better version of it), I do have an appt booked at another hairdressers that I made before this one got in touch after a long wait. That is purely for a consultation, on Monday but would be followed by a trial and do, which is more, probably about £25 + for trial and £32+ on the day.

WHat do do? Sorry, I am either wearing a red tshirt of my bra with the straps down on these photos as my dress is strapless.

I will take the photos down soon in case anyone sees xxx

I think you are very hard on yourself in the descriptions of your face - I don't see any of the "faults" you pointed out.

Now onto the hairdo. Personally I don't like it much. I'm not entirely sure why, it just doesn't say "the best I could possibly look" to me. I much prefer your original ideas of loose bun and tendrils.

I am glad you are honest, it is similar to what my SIL had and while I thought she looked bloody stunning I remember thinking it wouldnt suit/be for me. UGH! Smiley laugh x

I agree with AC, I like your idea. And I don't think much of a hairdresser who ignores what you want and does her own thing. I would have a trial with the other one (who is still really cheap, btw - I was quoted £100 for mine) and find pictures of the kind of thing you want.

Also, you don't have a fat face. You have a slightly round face which is maybe why you think it is fat, but it isn't at all, I promise. You have lovely features.

I've looked again and think the top looks a bit pointy and the whole effect is "wonky"!

Oh dear - that does sound harsh, doesn't it? Sorry!!

I'd love to see you with a symmetrical hairstyle - can you do one (even roughly) and post a picture?

Haha, that made me LOL- dont worry its not harsh on me, just her skills maybe? Haha...

She did say that she would make sure the other side of the top was more pulled out/even and in line and that this was just a rough look but I just dont know... I have managed to ring the other place up and luckily the woman who would do the trial is there, she says I can nip down at 6 oclock (will be wearing a hood!) for a chat and can have the trial monday.... have explained all of the above, need to get photos on my phone i think to show her (no ink to print)... am glad of the honesty guys. i will try and post a symmetrica look later when I can take these damn pins out x

Your face isn't at all fat!!!

Your hair looks lovely and I'm sure you'll find a style to suit on Monday.

I think its the only thing she can do so talked you into it, also the sides arent blending properly with the top. I say pay for the more expensive salon, you pay for what you get really (and your face isnt fat!)

I think they intended style looks quite nice, I just don't think its finished properly. I like the pearls a lot though ? they look beautiful with your colouring.

I know its a rough version of what the finished style would be but dunno.. I will post a flash Monday if poss of the other style.

Pearls are ok, earring a bit short and stubby for my liking but they were part of the set from BHS (£16) and the headband was an eBay band that cost about £4 hehe... cheap as chips x
