Hairband/tiara question

Purple Pixie, 23 February, 2012 at 11:33 Posted on Planning 0 10

I was thinking of getting a comb (or similar) to go in the back of my hair. This means that in most of the photos you won't see it. Do you think my hair will look too bare? I'm thinking of having quite blingy earrings, would that help?

Honest opinions sought please. I'm helpless at accessorising at the best of times, let alone for my wedding ☹️

Have you got any pics of what you have got/planning on getting? I would have thought that if you are having big earings then you wouldn't need anything else. (I'm not very good at this either!)

I'm not brilliant at putting accessories together either so I keep things quite simple. I think if you have blingy earrings and a comb at the back it will be enough and look very nice.

TBH, I think a lot of brides overdo the accessories. It's too busy when you have statement necklace, earrings, AND a tiara! I think the comb is a lovely idea if your earrings are striking.

The only way you'll know for sure if you like it is to try it all together, see if you need something more, and then add. Or conversely, you might think there's too much going on a take something away.

It's easy to get carried away with jewelry for a wedding, but pick and choose the pieces you really want so that you're the one who ends up shining, not just your accessories!

WSS! I make these so totally love a bit of OTT, but I don't like big ear rings, big necklace and big tiara etc. However it is personal prefence. I would never wear ear rings, necklace, bracelet & ring all at the same time, but some people are happy to.

I think if you have a comb in the back then blingy earrings would be good, how about a couple of sparkly or pearl pins in the front somewhere?

I think that's gorgeous and personally would be enough. I certainly wouldn't wear something at the front too.

With a beautiful comb like that I would keep your other accessories to a minimum. here is one being worn more forward
