hairdresser help

Zooropa, 26 August, 2008 at 12:08 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 1

Sorry for the stupid post but I've got an appointment at a hairdressers on Friday for the first time in years and am really nervous. I know it's only getting my hair cut but it's been so long. The last time I had it done was 10 months ago for my wedding and I just had an inch off the bottom. I've been having that done for years (well once every year or so at supercuts) and before that a friend (a hairdresser) did it and just cut it the way he thought would suit me. My main problem is what will they want to know? Do I need to know how I want it doing or can I just tell them how long and not a mullet?

Do you know how you want it doing? I think that is the best place to start really. If you just want a trim then that's easy but if you want a new style you should take a couple of e.g.s with you to give the stylist an idea to work from but be prepared for them to make other suggestions depending on your hair type.

I had my hair cut yesterday and it was a different woman to normal so I was really nervous - esp as she was really young and I feared for my hair but actually she has done the best haircut I have had in year and I will definitely go back to her rather than my original hairdresser. Hopefully you will have a positive experience.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll just get it trimmed as I haven't a clue what I'd want otherwise (although that irritates me as I think the minimum price is £26). My hair is just long (but not really long) with no style, very fine and very split ends and all I know is I still want to be able to tie it back.
