Halloween is almost upon us! Does anyone do anything for Halloween? Parties or go out dressed up?

One of my best mates is obsessed with dressing up so halloween is a great excuse. Thankfully she's getting married in December so i'm off the hook this year! I'm not a big fan to be honest. Did just say to H though that we're totally having a bbq, fireworks, toffee apples etc as soon as we buy a house with a garden!

We don't do anything apart from buying a truckload of chocolate for trick or treaters and then hoping that we don't get any.

Randomly we are having a pumpkin carving competition at work so I will be busy doing that on Thursday night.

I'm not a fan. Fair enough if you are into paganism and it's genuinely an important festival to you, but for the majority it's an over marketed Americanised time when kids think it's ok to act like hoons, cause trouble or go out begging for sweets off strangers. Let their bloody parents feed them sugar if they want

We aren't usually well enough prepared to remember to go out, so we used to turn all the lights off hide upstairs with a DVD and refuse to answer to door when we lived in the UK.

Funnily enough i am less bothered by it here in NZ, but it seems like less of a 'thing' here. We tried to get into the spirit over the last couple of years. It's incredible how many kids are totally unprepared for you to say 'trick' - come on kids use your imagination! And don't expect free sweets in return for nothing we don't give anything if no effort has gone into the costume.........

Although I am now a little tempted to set up our own 'trick', we could put devils horns on the pig and let her get a sniff of the sweets any callers had already collected......she'd chase them off in no time?

I am going to see 'A New World' perform music from Final Fantasy in London. Not remotely Halloweeny but I am mildly scared of the drunken party goers I expect to see on the train home....

I have never been a big fan of halloween which is odd considering my love of horror!
