Happy 2015! What does it have in store for you?

Lister, 1 January, 2015 at 08:42 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

I am starting a psychology degree and going to work full time. Erk. I think I am going to need more hours in the day.

    A lot of change! I've applied for voluntary severance at work, so could potentially leave in March. I've worked there since 2008. And, if all goes well, I'll be a Mrs and a Dr by the end of the year - wedding in May and I hand in my PhD thesis in September. It's going to be a busy year!

    I start a new job tomorrow, it's more in the area of work l want to be in, has better conditions and is closer to home. I have my eye on a course l want to do connected to my job. We are going to do more work on the house, no more scabby bathroom hopefully. I want to got to Iceland and try to see the Northern Lights. Hopefully (but unlikely!) l am hoping house guests stop turning up and staying for weeks at a time. I am going to get back into running and continue with Body Pump

    I'm also job hunting, although in my case it's work experience I'm looking for, probably volunteering. The idea being to give me something more current to put on my cv for when I finally have my degree!!

    talking of which, I begin my first level 3 module next week - almost there!!!

    I finally get married!

    Nothing else exciting planned really, we are finally in a position where OH enjoys his job and gets paid a decent wage so I guess we are just looking forward to a bit more financial security than we have had previously. Saying that, the cars MOT is due this month and last year it cost £1200 to pass it so financial security could still be a pipe dream!

    Happy New Year everyone Smiley smile

    A baby due in 16 weeks!!

    Other than that...I need a new car, not very exciting really. Not working will be a culture shock, but a good one, need to find something productive to do before baby arrives to stop me spending all day baking or spending money on Ebay.

    I honestly haven't thought much about anything beyond the wedding. I am working in a new role on a secondment-type basis and really hoping I'll get offered it as a permanent position, which would involve a slight pay rise, so that would be nice. Otherwise...I dunno!

    We've got lots of things booked already.

    Going to see sunny afternoon at the end of january.

    Then Alabama shakes and tv on the radio in February.

    Foos in June and Fleetwood Mac in july.

    Otherwise no idea!

    Long weekend in Amsterdam in two weeks, then it's all about IVF. So hopefully 2015 will be the year where we will finally get a baby! I've gone on about it for long enough ?

    Just the wedding on the cards for us too really! Haven't planned much or thought about anything else really. I keep day dreaming about moving house, but realistically that's not going to be achievable this year (unless we have a lottery win or something!)

    Happy to see the back of 2014 and trying to be positive for 2015 after husband left me last year.

    With that in mind my friends have helped me put together my f*ckit list as opposed to a bucket list:

    Seeing more gigs (Lionel Richie, Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith already booked)

    Go on holiday with the girls - I've never done a girlie holiday

    Doing a charity Trek in the French Alps in September

    And basically saying yes to everything this year Smiley smile

    Skinnyrock - that sounds great! So pleased you're keeping positive and have made some great plans. I hope 2015 will be a really positive year for you (and everyone else on here of course)!

    we've got a holiday to America in spring but haven't thought much further. We're thinking of moving so might start looking soon.

    I have a scan on Thursday for pcos - scared to death of the results but I am sort of in a mind set of I know something is wrong somewhere let's just find out so I can 'know' and take life steps accordingly if that makes any sense obviously I want my health 100% but if something is wrong medical science is brilliant nowadays (I hope)

    Me and oh treated ourselves to merlin passes so we're going to have lots of breaks in the UK this year and get full use :-)

    End of 2015 I want to see myself on the path way to being debt free

    Healthier both psychological and physiologically. Spend a lot of time feeling very down at the moment but think that's because I'm scared of my health.

    And to try and slow myself down enjoy the day we are in not be too busy to be able to stop and say "how are you? " I always find myself rushing around far too much I don't have time for chat :-( as idiotic as that sounds!

    Good luck with your psychology degree Lister! I finished mine in May 2014. I hope you enjoy it more than I did ?

    Not sure what 2015 will have in store for me. I am still enjoying that newlywed feeling even though it has been over 5 months now!

    Happy New Year all!

    Could be a tricky one for me, but I won't go into mega detail about that because let's not start the new year in a cloud of negativity.

    Post wedding, I am looking forward to our honeymoon at the end of April, definitely something to keep the spirits up, and just generally being an OM.

    Hopefully:

    Moving in with OH;

    Actually writing my Masters dissertation (been deferring it for about 3 years for various reasons);

    My second trip to Tokyo ?;

    OH's surprise 30th birthday trip to Dublin ;

    but most of all we're hoping it'll bring a baby.
