Happy music for the ceremony - inspiration please

Josiep00, 19 August, 2010 at 09:41 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hola Chiccas!

Well one of the things on my list of "things to sort out" is music. And wanted inspiration from ladies in the similar position.

We need the classic songs to walk down the aisle to, sign register and walk out to. We want everyone to feel our joy when we walk away as hubby and wifey so want some emmensly happy, jolly - any ideas?

We are also going to have a song in the ceremony instead of a reading - we want everyone singing! We are thinking for this we will use a Beatles song as all generations know the Beatles. Maybe Eight Days a Week or She Loves you, but more thoughts appreciated.

We are getting hitched at xmas and would also like some xmas tunes thrown in, maybe for when people are getting seated. So feel free to throw a few of those in the mix.

So what tunes have you gone for - or would you recommend for me?

Thanks!

    Hi

All sounds fab! Love the idea of crimbo songs as people are entering.

A friend of ours had 'all you need is love' as they left and it was brill!

We are having ELO Mr Blue sky to leave to as its really jolly.

Other songs we were thinking of were 'touch the sky' curtis mayfield. Jennifer Hudson 'all dressed up in love' but only cos i love sex in the city!

    For our ceremony we had;

    Royksopp - Happy up here
    Take That - Greatest Day
Elbow - A day like this
John Paul Young - Love is in the air
    Kaiser Chiefs
Theme from Pirates of the caribbean
Theme from Much ado about nothing
    Take That - The garden
    Fiest - 1,2,3,4

Among many many more...we had a beach wedding so music was played for about 1/2 hour before and after the actual ceremony

The Beatles 'when I'm 64' has very weddingy vows type lyrics and would be a very quirky and very fun choice.

Fav Beatles track for a wedding....All you need is love (playing it tomorrow night as final song)

Good exit music for ceremony - Jackie Wilson - Your love keeps lifting me higher.

Another goodie for ceremony - Stevie Wonder - signed sealed delivered.

I completely love the idea of signed, sealed delivered for after the ceremony!

Loving the idea of Beatles songs to sing along to aswell. How about All You Need is Love? Or I Want To Hold Your Hand?
