Has anybody 'blinged' their wedding shoes with swarovski crystals?

MrsK, 27 May, 2009 at 11:49 Posted on Planning 0 10

I've just bought my wedding shoes (sorry no photo, can't find camera lead). Anyway, they are very plain satin and I want to 'bling' them up with swarovski crystals to match my dress. Is this mad? Has anybody else done this, I don't want to do the whole shoe, but just some scattered at the front. I was thinking cocktail stick and superglue?

They look fab! where do I get the crystals and wand from? are they relatively 'secure' once in place?

    Thanks!

I bought it all on ebay.

    Crystals

Wand - TBH just get the best price! Mine is a Kandi Hot fix wand and that was about £14 with free crystals for other things!.

I was nervous to start with but now I want to attack everything...next up...the flip flops!

    Me!

They were just plain satin, got the "hot fix" swarovskis from bay of e and used a clear craft glue to position them, then used my hair dryer to hot fix them. Was fiddly but not complicated.

    Hiya,

Was also thinking of decorating my shoes as they are plain but happened to mention it to the seamstress and she advised not too as she said any type of diamonte or beadingt would catch on the dress.

I just don't know what to do now as I don't want to worry about that on the day but my shoes a so plain - typical wedding shoes - had to buy them as they were a bargain at £15

I think you would be ok with flat diamante's and not beading which may catch. I'm going to order a hot glue gun thingy and some crystals and give it a go! My shoes were a bargain basement £14.99 but just look too plain and deffo need blinging up a bit!

Im also going to be doing this as i managed to get some bargainous bridesmaid shoes that ar a little plain......

one question though, what size diamantes have you all used? i know they come in various difernt sizes, but i cant actually imagine what a 2mm diamante will look like!! is that about right for shoes, or is that too small?? im going to be having blue ones to add a little colour so i guess having them smaller would be better???
