Has anybody ever been on a Eurocamps holiday?

Purple Pixie, 19 February, 2009 at 10:58 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

I've just been looking at their web-site and there seems some good deals on it. I was just wondering whether anybody has been to one of their camps and tell me what it was like?

?

We went to a couple in France when we were kids and stayed in one of their tents. They were great - loads of stuff for us to do, kids clubs, swimming etc. My sister went last year and took her 3 kids and they absolutely loved it. They stayed in one of the mobile homes.

Have used KeyCamp - same company, different branding. They don't complaint handle effectively and their accommodation nearly always needs a good clean, imo.

Some of the sites are lovely though. I think the Eurocamp sites are probably nicer.

We've been on quite a few holidays with Eurocamp, have stayed in a tent and more recently a mobile home. They have always been great, lovely accommodation, plenty to do if you want to be involved but they don't hassle you if you'd rather do your own thing. We've been all over France with them (loire, alps, paris, riveria, dordogne, normandy) and whilst all the campsites are individual and unique they were all of a very good standard.

We'll definitely be using them again and as you say they do have some pretty good offers on throughout the year. Last year we went for a week in June staying in a mobile home on the riveria for about £300, absolutely brilliant! ?

A guy I work with took his daughter to one in France last year. They stayed in a chalet and really enjoyed it. He's a single parent and there was plenty to keep his daughter occupied. Plus he managed to make some friends, bless him. I think they are returning this year.

We've done Canvas Holidays many, many times before, and really enjoy it. They do tend to work out a bit more expensive than the other companies, but the tents are always clean, you usually have great couriers who are very helpful. IMO the canvas tent layout is better than the competitors, especially if you have children you want to keep out of the kitchen, and they seem to have better pitches on most sites too.

We used to go as a family when my sister and I were little, then a few years ago Mr FtG and I started going as adults, just the two of us For the last couple of years we have gone en masse with my parents and my sister and her family - each family in their own tent/mobile. It works really well for us.

We went on Eurocamp holidays every year when I was growing up and loved them.

H and I went with Keycamp a couple of years ago and had a great time. We always stay in a caravan, not a fan of tents! The sites do vary - we stayed at 2 different ones last time we went and the 2nd one was much better (size of pitches, faciitlies etc) but I think for the price you pay, it's great. Keycamp and Eurocamp are the same company - i always price up both companies and Keycamp nearly always work out cheaper. Might be worth remembering cos you can get an almost identical holiday for less money!

Thanks everyone. Certainly sounds like they're worth a more in-depth look.

I have been twice with Ben, once to Brittany when he was one and once to South of France when he was two. They were both great holidays. We used to go as children. xx
