I did this after loosing weight with weight watchers and becoming tottally obsessed, (i was weighing myself several times a day). Yes I did put weight on afterwards but I realised that being a certain weight wasn't the answer and wasn't making me happy.

Since I moved out of home - a long time ago - I have never owned a pair of scales. I guess that I could be deluding myself sometimes but TBH I can always tell if I have lost/put on any weight by my clothes.

I would say ditch the scales if you are becoming obsessed. Can't you do a poo and lose wieght and it varies at certain times of the month any how.?

I don't think I've ever owned any scales. I don't see the point. Noone else needs to know that number, I can tell if I change size / shape. I put it in the same catergory as knowing the circumference of your arms & legs. Why does it matter what the number is, if you're happy (or not) in your skin.

My Mam got obsessed with her weight a while back and was unhealthily thin. She'd weigh about 5 times a day. The best thing she ever did was throw her scales out.

We have scales, but I never use them. OH weighs himself on them, I stick to once a week at my slimming class (stones and pounds) and the following day at my gym (kg). Need to know the kg as the machines at the gym ask for it.

When I went to uni I didn't have scales and I put on a LOT of weight which I'm still trying to lose now, years later.

We have bathroom scales, we were bought them as a wedding present 2 years ago and I think we've only ever used them to weigh our suitcases before we've been away on holiday!!

When our last set broke, I decided not to replace them as I was also becoming a little obsessed. I weigh myself at my dad's house about once a week.

I became obsessed a few years back so got rid of the scales and haven't had any since. Beofre being PG I occasionally used my parents scales just to check.

I've not had any scales for a few years. Now, I'm a right old lardarse but much happier about my weight psychologically. I chucked them out because I was weighing myself 10-20 times a day, every day... every time I ate anything, drank anything, went to the loo, came in, went out... it was all v. tedious.

I need some really as I DO need to lose weight, but I don't want to go down the obsessional route again.

We haven't had any since I can remember. It's much easier not to obsess then.

Mine don't work so I've sort of ditched them. The gym ones often don't work. I know what I weigh to within about half a stone and that's enough for me really.

Ditching the scales is definitely a good move. I haven't owned any for years - judging yourself by how your clothes fit, what you look like and how you feel is a much better way of managing your weight. Even when I get weighed at the doctors, I ask them not to tell me, I'm happier not knowing. If my clothes start to feel tight, I'll eat a bit more sensibly and do a bit more exercise until I look and feel trimmer again.

I have scales, but the Wii fit weighs me every day now anyway, so there is no point me getting rid of them. I wish I could though
