Has anyone had/having a popcorn table?

katieJ2b, 25 November, 2015 at 21:16 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi guys,

We have decided to have a popcorn table at our reception. I've found lots of pictures on Pinterest (obviously!) but I'm not quite sure how to recreate it. I've been looking for some large containers to put the popcorn in but I'm struggling!

Has anyone had one, or is planning on having one and wouldn't mind sharing their ideas / pictures / links / contacts ?

Thanking you all in advance Smiley smile x

I think Bruce Neville's daughter does popcorn etc. He is one of the hitched suppliers. You will probably see him posting answers etc or find him on the suppliers list. Possibly popcorn people are on there also. Hope that helps.

I haven't had one but my first thought is how do you stop it going soft? I find the popcorn you buy in bags goes soft really quickly if the bag isn't sealed or its left in a bowl?

What about something like the jars at the back of this picture? That way they'lll be sealed so won't go soft as quickly.

Oh blimey! I didn't think about the popcorn going soft! Whenever I have popcorn it doesn't normally last long enough!

I do like the look of the Kilner jars though, just wondering whether they would be wide enough at the top to easily get a scoop in? Hmmmmm.......

Ive been to one that had popcorn and candyfloss machines so it was getting made along with the demand although their was issues with long queing for the candyfloss

you basically got a bag of popcorn straight from the machine and then their was a table of jars, (a bit like salt shakers) and you just pick your flavor and shook it onto the popcorn

the candyfloss was a much bigger hit than the popcorn especially with all the children... most people only seemed to eat a few pieces of popcorn and left the rest behind though from what I saw, we didnt each much of ours either

We had one at our wedding. The venue supplied the popcorn and the machine, we just had to supply the bags to put it in! Essentially our was an enclosed glass machine with a teeny hole at the bottom where the popcorn came out!

It was totally worth having!! People ate more of the popcorn than they did the sweetie table!!!!

Would it be worth asking your venue if they have a preferred supplier for this? xx
