Has the wedding dress thread been deleted??

Our thread has disappeared and the original over on WP. I was part way through reading. I had tried to say that OT was ace for a whinge and people aren't mean. Wonder what we did over here to upset the applecart?

Who knows?! I feel better now and I going to feel even better in a mo as I'm going to try and make O laugh - the silly things I have to do but I don't care!! ?

The OP on the dress thread asked for opinions on Chinese dresses. She got opinions - some saying chinese dresses were wonderful and some saying about the quality of the dresses, and suggesting alternatives.

I think there was rudeness from both sides of the argument

I'm all for opinions and have never been a fan of twee fluffiness.. however I think certain people were being downright vile about someone's chosen dress. None of us ever agree on other people's choices but there is a way of delivering constructive criticism.

Nobody directed anything towards a specific person's dress until my last comment, but she would agree with me anyway. I think certain people are reading things that aren't there.

If I'd said "Trickers, your dress is ***" then I'd think you had a point. But alas..

If somebody said that the dress that I had bought looked like someone had draped a lacy tablecloth over it, then some people might think that it was rude. And remember someone said that about my first dress. It made me have doubts and luckily I found my new dress, which is somuch better. I didn't take that comment to heart but it made me see the dress for what it was.

People have said that they dont like my new dress but I dont care as I love it. However, if I looked rubbish in it, I'd want to know before my wedding day

I wish it hadn't been deleted so that people who didn't see the thread can see how ridiculous the accusations are. Not once did I, or anybody else tell the person that flashed her dress that it was "Crap, shoddy.." whatever. As a collective, in MY OPINION, china dresses are exactly that though, but saying we said that to her is completely untrue.

No-one made comments on anyone's dress in particular as far as I know. We were all talking generally...

Was this on WP? There was a thread on OT too started by GeordieBarbie that I was read earlier and was going to post to tonight, has that been deleted too and why? There wasn't anything wrong on it when I looked!

Trickers has never been nasty to anyone. She is opinionated, sure - but who isn't? The deleted thread went far beyond offering opinions but was people being nasty about other's choices.

I caught the back end of both of them and i think the one on WP started a couple of days ago, didn't read it TBH but gather it escalated and maybe lead to GB's thread on here? Possibley?

I think that girls who are considering buying these dresses should know that some turn out lovely like GB's and some are a disaster like Soozphes... That's the two names that I remember being mentioned on the thread, and both girls would agree with our opinions of their dresses.

I dont see what was wrong in naming those two examples.

Other comments were generalisations about some being good and some being ill fitting or nothing like the dream dresses

I agree. I'm all for giving honest opinions, but I do think this should be done tactfully and diplomatically.

The way I see it, You can get a dress from China that dosnt fit you and looks pants or a dress from a bridal store that looks pants and makes you look like a turnip

Basically the person who flashed thier dress seems quite quiet and for all the worry that we have offended poor old HH I seem to think that shes a big enough girl to tell us if she is mortally offended? I diddnt hear BB saying that the one dress flashed was good/bad and HH im sure wont be crying herself to sleep tonight!

I have never seen Tricks be nasty to anyone on here. In real life however, I heard she once killed a man just by looking at him straight in the eye. She is one hard motherchuffer.
