Hello,
Well.......... after a very long time I can finally join you all in planning the wedding properly.
My OH and I went up to Scotland for a holiday with my family and seemed to get most of the fundamental jobs done. The date is 30th Sept 2010..... can't wait!!
The church has been booked - it was the church I used to go to as a child and although the minister is no longer there, the current one made us feel very welcome.
The reception venue has been chosen and we are currently awaiting possible menu's from them - again its somewhere my family and I used to go to when I was a child so has special meaning to me. Poor H2B had never been to the area before but totally fell in love with it all and says that in a few years we may be able to contemplate moving up there (yipee!!)
He, despite not being Scottish, has decided he wants to wear the kilt - and has chosen the Rangers tartan (bless him, they are my team of choice!!), still undecided as to whether it is wise.
I asked my brother's girlfriend to be bridesmaid, originally had asked my friend but she told me a couple of weeks ago that she didn't feel comfortable doing it as is quite shy so it was back to the drawing board. Brothers girlfriend was so delighted she was crying (and had my mum crying) before we even tried any dresses on! We have chosen a lovely ebony rose dress, in peacock blue, for her to wear.
I have also found my dress, its Mon Cheri's Alyssa dress and will be having a jacket/stole/shrug type thing made too.
All in all I was v. pleased and can you believe all of this was done in the one day - bless my mum...... she could give rally drivers a run for their money!!!
Obviously there is alot more to be done yet but I feel now that we have at last got things moving in a positive direction, long may that continue!!
Amee
