Have hit a planning wall...

....says it all really! I seem to have ground to a juddering halt. Stationery making is underway, rings ordered and venue FINALLY changed.

BUT we still have to sort out BMs, choose menu (so can send out with invites...), decide on hymns/music/readings, pick first dance music, I need my jewellerys/shoes etc, need to finalise cake design and flavours, meet tog to walkthrough photo ideas, get some of the guys in to be measured for the suits.

Worst of it is, I can;t really get myself motivated anymore....bugger.

Oh gods, and somebody started on about wedding lists today...I don't know what the etiquette is for this, part of me feels awful cheeky although truth be told even though we live together we are still livng with a combo of student and batchelor kitchen gear, so new plates would be FABULOUS (and I'm not being sarky!)

Anyone else feel totally unmotivated?

OH on another note...anybody honeymooning within the UK? If so, care to share?

I had a bit of a dull patch as well with about 5/6 months to go. I had got everything sorted in my head and there was then a time when the date seemed so far away that I just kinda stopped doing things.

Instead of thinking of everything as wedding chores why dont you try to turn them into fun things? So instead of sorting out the BM's organise a day with your girlies, you can do a bit of shopping, have a nice lunch and a bottle or two of wine and a good ol chat.

Menu choice - either try to cook the closest you can and decide or go for a tasting so you get a nice meal for the two of you.

First dance\ - we never really sat down and listened to music we just made a list when ever one of us came up with a song and then from that chose our music, dont think we finalised it till the day before.

Cake design get pictures of the ones you like and then just have a sit down with OH and each take one away that you dont like till you are left with what your favourite(s) is/are and talk to your cake maker and see what they can come up with based on those.

Tog - cant help although we had one she was under strict instructions never to ask for a posed photo

Suits - hand it over to OH tell him you are going to have nothing to do with getting them sorted so he needs to book a time to meet up with them and go have a try on. My OH did this and the blokes had a nice half day together trying things on and then going for some meal that I would never approve of and a couple of beers.

Wedding lists are a touchy subject as to whether you should have them or not. I can only tell you what we did. We had one, however we made sure that nothing on it was more than £50, there were lots of little things that people could buy in what ever combination they wanted, and then on the invite and at the top of the list we told people that actually what we wanted was them at the day and that they should not feel as though they had to get us anything.

Trust me your wedding mojo will come back. But till it does you have hitched to pass the time
