Have I been took on? Long Post sorry but advise needed!

Lola-Belle, 30 July, 2012 at 13:28 Posted on Planning 0 10

Put a post on here in Jan asking about Brooch bouqets a woman called artmac21 replied saying she could help, she had good ebay feedback so paid £20.00 up front then £30.00 on completion on the privisio she could have some of my wedding pics for advertisement. This is how its gone:

Thanks Amy for your order. Give me your number and I'll call you tomorrow to discuss the specific details of bouquet. really info about you and wedding to personalise bouquet. If you have photos for inspiration and of your dress then I can look at those, it helps. I'm****, if you want to send up brooches for inclusion. It's can be any trinket, jewellery item that I can incorporate. I have some orders outstanding at moment - but am waiting on supplies to start making them up, however once got all the bits together only takes a couple of nights to make up a bouquet (fingers crossed). The colours for your bouquet are easy to source (have a very simliar order at present in which I've almost got all pieces together) - hoping that can get yours to you by 4 weeks max (probably earlier but being cautious).

She called me to confirm some things and I paid deposit, next thing its 28th march and ive heard nothing so I email, (as some of you know I then lost me nan so didnt do much until may)

When I tried to trace her in may she had been sellin on ebay so I emailed her on there and said " why are you online to sell things but not to answer my phone calls or emails?"

I get this:

Sorry Amy, I've not been in touch - I have got some pieces together for your bouquet. I will send pics of them probably tomorrow. I have some other orders which I was going to do before yours due to wedding dates etc. however, I am waiting for some pieces to arrive for those bouquets. The longest part in the process is getting the pieces. So very soon I'll be making up the bouquets.

26th May I get some pictures, we email back and forward for a few days ammended which bits and like and which bits I dont. Then I on 6th June I get this:

sorry Ive not been in touch - will finalise bouquet this week and will post by weekend. Thanks for patience. I will be in touch again very soon.

And then .... NOTHING!!!

No phone calls no return of emails nothing I have her name, address, work number, home number and mobile but she wont contact me!!!

Sent a snotagram saying contact me or I will take further action! Still Nothing

I rang her work last week , (just to see if she was in) She was but I was told she was out at lunch. So shes at work and selling on ebay but I feel like ive been robbed!

What do I do ?

x

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Did you pay the deposit through ebay?

Smiley sad oh no, how frustrating for you!! Did you pay her through paypal? If you did you can go through them to get your money back, I've no idea if there is a time limit on when you paid to when you can open a dispute but if you think you wont be getting what you have half paid for then its worth looking into x

Sorry to hear you have been having trouble, Her messages sounds very genuine but very strange she is avoiding you.

Also strange for her to give you all her contact details if she was going to mess you around, I hope u hear from her soon!

Reading her website, it looks like she made a bouquet for her own wedding and then decided to set up shop. There is only an example of one wedding on there so maybe she is just not used to the business side of things and her timescales are slipping.

I would call her and clarify exactly when you will be receiving your bouquet.

I would call her at home on an evening if she is at work all day and give a deadline for delivery otherwise you would like a refund. If you don't manage to get in touch, write a letter and post it by Recorded Delivery so you have proof it's been delivered and ask for a refund. You could also contact ebay too for help if no joy.

Have you tried calling using someone elses phone number or email address? As others mentioned depending on the timescale of payment you should be covered by Paypal and unless she could prove she sent the goods out you should be able to get a refund (just noticed the payment was made over 45 days ago so wouldn't be covered under Paypal) however I would still try contact using an alternative phone number so she may answer your call. Thats terrible. Could you say you'll visit her at home or work unless she speaks to you?

    Thanks for the replys peeps.

I think after the first time she dissappeared for a few months I honestly though well these things happen but then this time Ive text, emailed, called all her numbers, emailed on ebay which I know she will be getting as shes been on there selling stuff some im loosing faith!

As sarah said im out of the 45days for paypal to dispute so thats no good Smiley sad

However I do like the idea of a recorded delivery letter so think ill give that a go tomorrow.

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies Smiley smile

    xx

UPDATE! - After a couple of snotagrams, unanswered phone calls and a bit of a stong voicemail I got a text yesterday saying it was in the post. (Shame it had to come to that), received it today and it will need some adjustments, although they are included in the price and the lady has offered for me to return it for free ammendments, once ive paid postage (as its quite heavy) and the worry that I wont get it back or have to chase again like I have for it now im going to do them myself. Its very pretty just a bit wobbly and needs re-shaping. I'll put some pics on in a bit.

The lady apologiesd, to which my responce was, these things can take a while and that wasnt the problem it was the lack of communication a week or two I could have understood but no responces for months at a time was what got me rilled! She has said she is now only selling ones she has made not making to order anymore. To be honest Id recommend her in that capacity but probably not for a made to order one as it took 8 months to get mine.

    xx

Really glad you got it sorted eventually. Yet another reason why everything should be ordered miles in advance of when you need it!

    Want to see piccies!
