Have they changed e Bay feedback?

Doughnut, 17 May, 2008 at 11:09 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

I have gone from 1660 to 2200 feedback overnight! Have they changed something somewhere?

Yep, I don't think sellers can leave feedback anymore. Which is shit, considering the amount of people that try to rip Mr Hole off.

They've changed the way sellers can leave feedback for buyers but I don't think they've changed anything else.

    I might be wrong though.

    My feedback score hasn't changed.

I noticed the other day my score seemed to have gone up and I also got a message as I was leaving feedback for a seller that the seller can no longer leave a buyer either negative or neutral feedback, so you can leave honest feedback as a buyer without risk of retaliation.

Really? What about the little shits that bid and win then don't pay? I want to leave them bad feedback!

I've no idea. TBH I only buy and not very often, so it was the first time I'd seen the message.

AFAIK sellers can only leave positive whereas buyers can leave pos, neutral or neg!

Though I am peed off with a seller of mine, I paid immediately for two separate items as soon as the auctions finished, waited 2 weeks no items, chased up with seller, 1 turned up a week later the other didnt, chased seller again the other turned up a week later, I leave neutral saying items were ok, but had to chase seller and the instructions were all in chinese! This was back in February, just gone on to check my fleabay account now and she has left me 2 negs with comment of NO GOOD!

    WTF!!

I have left replies to her negs and added comments to my neutrals but the bitch has caused me to drop to 92% from a perfect 100%

what is the point of leaqving feedback for buyers, if you can only leave positive. may as well scrap it alltogether.

On the one hand, this is good. I got a camera case a few weeks back that was nice and good service etc, but it said it was leather and it wasn't. Seller fobbed me off with something about contacting suppliers but I hadn't left feedback as was worried about getting a neg. (they had the cheek to email me asking me to leave feedback and pretending it was an email generated by e Bay!) Anyway, have neutralled them now.

I agree it's a bit of a stupid change in general though. There's scamming goes on from both sides and the feedback is the way to track that. My example above was only for a small thing, I wouldn't be afraid to leave neg for a big deal and would probably be going through e Bay's dispute centre with it anyway.

I've sold stuff on there recently and have still had the options of leaving negative or neutral feedback for buyers. Fortunately I haven't had to use it though.

The new feedback rules come into force at the end of May/beginning of June. Feedback scores will becaome higher if yoou have traded with a seller/buyer on multiple transactions. So multple FB given before would only count as one, it is now calculated separetly IYSWIM.

Any neutrals you have received in the last 12 months will also affect your FB percentage. You can leave neg, but only if the buyer doesn't pay etc. You can't leave a neg, just because a buyer left you one and you want to retaliate. eBay are makiny sellers jump through hoops☹️
