Yes. My sisters' ex and all his family.

She had a lot of trouble with him, went to court & stuff and he started harrassing us all on there.

Yes, a lad from school, who I only ever spoke to about twice, has kept messaging me on FB and calling my phone ever since we left school. It was innocent enough but it started to get a bit more romantic from his end (!) and it just became a bit much. I hadn't been returning call or messages for the last 3 years or so, and it got to the point where he was harrassing me a bit and leaving stroppy voicemail messages. He moved overseas, and I've since changed my number, so the calls stopped, but he was constantly sending me messages.

I blocked him, and then he sent Mr RB a message asking him to ask me to get in touch!

Yes, 2 people who used to be best friends of mine, and members of their families.

They both hurt me and let me down in a big way and I don't want them to know anything that's going on with me and I have no desire to know what's going on with them.

I have my ex and his wife and his mother blocked because they were using stuff from my facebook as a means to say really nasty things to me. Awkwardly, the ex later sent H a friend request and the oddball accepted him. Trés bizarre.

Then there's also the weird stalker bloke who lived opposite my old flat in London. He used to send me creepy messages.

AAAAAAAND one of H's weird girl mates who has a real thing for him and went through a phase of commenting after everything I said on his page with some snide retort or other, then posting really soppy comments on his page calling him gorgeous. Freak. I decided I'd rather not see that and didn't want her to see whatever I was interacting with him about.

Facebook is a mecca for the cosmically deranged.

Yes, I went on a blocking spree just last weekend. Too many nosey parkers on FB for my liking.

Aren't all profiles going to be public with this new timeline update they're introducing?

    I've no idea! Are they?!

I get quite annoyed with FB constantly changing the privacy settings. At first, I just amended my settings so this guy couldn't message me or write on my wall, and then when FB changed the last time I suddenly had a message from him as all the setting were up the spout. Makes me so mad!

My sister has blocked me and the family but we aren't too bothered by that.

I limited what my ex could see but he blocked me which is fine even though we get on as I get sick of him uploading endless pictures of my son and said so, I am sure his friends are sick of seeing them. It is as if he is the only father in the world begging for compliments!

I've not read about it myself but according to whatever daytime show I was watching this morning we'll have a week from when the change happens to untag / delete everything we want and then it goes public.

I know it's free and therefore have little right to moan but I don't want anything of mine public. Does make me consider closing my account and starting afresh with no info on there.

I have the timeline and according to the "view as public" button, my privacy settings are still the same. If it does go public later though, I will close my account. I have way too many pictures of the kids and personal events in my life that I don't want to share with all and sundry.

I've just checked my settings and they are the same except there is an option to make everything that may have previous been available to public or friends of friends to just friends. I have clicked that button!

Trickers, if you look at my profile you can opt to change to the new one by clicking on "Learn more about Timeline" x

Nnngh, no. There are some things on there that have gone public and I don't know how to change them. Everybody can now see links from the Guardian that I've posted, polls that I've answered, events such as me getting married and engaged, and things I've "liked". This is annoying.

Yeah I clicked that button too, but see my other post - there's some things it apparently still leaves public and I have no idea how to change that to private. I don't want ANYTHING visible to the big wide world (I know too many crazy people!).

There's a little "pen" icon on the corner of an event which if you click you have the option to "hide from timeline"

I think for things like tags and status updates, there are other settings which you can blanket set to be juts friends etc.

Yeah, but the ones that have stayed public, when I click the thing in the corner, nothing happens. It doesn't give me ANY options and I can't find a setting either on my profile or in my privacy settings menu to make EVERYTHING private.

I'm sure I'll get there and when I find the answer, I'll share!

I've just changed it to the Timeline thing and FFS there's so much cr@p on there from years ago that I really don't want to be reminded about. What a bloody stupid idea,

I think I'll end up deleting the account altogether. I've been trying to wean myself of it for a while now, this may well be the kick up the backside I need.

I can't as I've got business pages on there and it is good for that. What a pain though. Why can they not just leave it alone. This is so invasive!

I think you have every right to moan Houdini. if they want to make changes then fair enough, those changes should only effect anything you do after that date, not back date it to when you first opened your account.

When I have uploaded pics or updated my status etc. I have done so knowing that the privacy settings at that time would prevent certain people from seeing it. To suddenly remove these settings is just ridiculous. It's made me quite angry, particularly as I thought I had removed all traces of certain people from my FB, and now I've just been reminded of it all.
