Hayfever or a cold?

monkey fingers, 29 May, 2009 at 20:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

How do I tell the difference?

I have had mild hayfever before , today I have an itchy, runny, bunged up nose, sore eyes and the start of a sore throat, It came on very quick when I was sat in the garden.

I was bunged up last night with a huge headache, but I had spent the day crying so I assumed that was caused those symptoms.

So, what do you reckon, cold or hayfever ?

I suspect Hayfever (although I am also hoping Clara was actually over the galloping snots and hasn't given you anything!).

oh don't you worry, I am sure she didn't give me anything (except broodiness for a little girl) and it doesn't matter so much now anyway, as I have a month to get over it!

I thought Hayfever too, but it's horrid and not just mildly annoying like it was last time.

Sounds very much like Hayfever to me. When my allergies get bad in that way, I can feel downright ill, so it could be making you feel that bad.

Can you take antihistamines? I always find the nasal spray type - whilst unpleasant - quite effective for a quick fix.
