Head Explode

Anne2015, 27 October, 2014 at 14:02 Posted on Planning 0 5

Does anyone else feel like their head might explode?

There is so much to think about and so many ideas, I don't feel like it will all come together and our time is flying so fast. Our decisions seem to take ages to make!

Anyone got an ideas for things to nibble throughout the evening? I want a sweetie table but I think it might be a waste, OH thought about putting jars of sweets on the tables in the evening??!!

Flavoured popcorn - that way you can do a mix of sweet and savoury. I think it would probably work out cheaper than a sweetie table too!

I went to a wedding last month with a sweet table - absolutely NOTHING went to waste, so I really don't think you would need to worry about that!

I don't think a sweetie table would go to waste, everyone seems to bring out there childish side.
How about biscuits, cakes or popcorn or more savoury like crackers?

    Hi Anne,

I totally share this feeling with you. There seem to be an endless amount of details that I need to think about and quite frankly, I don't want to! The problem is I am a closet control freak so have rejected all the ideas provided by others.

Hmm, is that the definition of a Bridezilla??!!

I have a lovely FMIL and she told me that all the little details must relate to a theme or it won't work. I really rejected that idea, as the theme is us! And we like a lot of different things!

Our venue is dictating a lot of details like food, so I don't have the evening nibble predicament, but I think popcorn sounds like a great idea! If you are making it yourself youhave to make sure it doesn't go soggy though.

It is expensive but Krispy Kreme do a wedding cake tier thing. I think that would be nice to munch on! Bit sweet though. I'm not really a fan of the sweetie table if I'm honest, only because I don't really like boiled or jelly sweets. But they do tend to go down really well (I've seen many an aunt make multiple trips!)

Ho much longer do you have until the day? You can probably schedule in something to do every month if you feel a bit overwhelemed. I definitely need to follow my own advice here...

You need three lists: a 'must have', 'would really like' and 'nice to have but not important'. Do not stress over lists 2 and 3 until 1 is all ticked off. Do not stress over list 3 until list 1 and 2 are ticked off.

That way if time does run away with you (or if your head actually explodes!) then nothing important will be missed.

Nibbles in the evening: sweetie table seems to be a huge hit wherever: OH's sister (late 50s) ended up with loads of sherbert flying saucers at our wedding for some reason!. Popcorn, cookies, macaroons, cakes, crisps, or just go for a more standard buffet or bacon butty. You can have whatever you like as long as a) the venue agrees it and b) it's within your budget.

Don't worry! It feels like your head will explode but you'll sort everything Smiley smile

Food wise, I think it depends what time your dinner is, what you're having, if you're having an evening buffet etc. There's absolutely no way we needed a sweetie table, but I do love the idea if you have a more casual wedding, with bbq food or something
