Heel anxiety help

rachietown, 5 April, 2016 at 11:01 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hello. I have got some beautiful shoes for my wedding and had a total Cinderella moment when I tried them on- they fit perfectly, are just the right heel height and feel super comfortable, however... I am getting married in Skipton Castle and after revisiting the venue my H2B pointed out the floorboards which (understandably with the castle being medieval) have huge gaps in between them. Now I have a terrible vision of walking down the aisle and getting my heel caught in between the floorboards. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do to avoid this?

I really don't want to change my shoes as they are just too perfect!

You can get little plastic caps that go over the heel and make the heel a bit wider. They are used at the races etc to stop heels sinking into grass but might work for you?

Where are they from, they are beautiful!

I second the heel protectors, I've never used them personally but it was the first thing that came to mind!

Beautiful shoes! I was going to recommend the plastic heel protectors too as that's what someone has suggested to me as we're getting married in a 15th century building with floorboards & then having our reception in a marquee on grass! Not sure where you get them from but they're like clear plastic discs.

From research I've done in the past I think there are a few different types, I remember two brands in particular that were very different; Penny Heels are like like silicone disks that just stick to the bottom of your heel but Clean Heels are a more sturdy plastic that actually go over the bottom part of the heel, they also seem to be a bit wider, so is worth looking up the different types to see what would suit you best! A simple Google search for heel protectors brings up plenty of options Smiley smile

Thank you so much everyone. I have just found some heel protectors on ebay- hopefully they will do the trick!

For those of you asking, my shoes are from a bridal store in the US called Bella Belle.
